Minor annoyance - flag icon preference not sticking

Hey, saw this mentioned in the Bugs thread but no-one followed up with any ideas. Searching for "flags" is uh, problematic. So here goes.

It's pretty simple, I want my flags to be set at on mouse over. When a battle starts - land or sea, custom or campaign, they appear as if they are set to "Always"

To get them to go away, I have to first select "Never" and return to the game and either play like that, or go back into settings again and change it from Never to Mouse Over. I have to do this for every battle.

Where is the CFG file? Is there one? Will setting it to read only help? Is this a common problem?

I ask because it is something that I would guess is fixable on our end and not about waiting for a patch like the lack of naval invasions and whatnot.

I don't have a solution but you aren't the only one with this bug. I have my preferences set to never on both but that doesn't seem to apply to battles!

Same here, those damn banners won't disappear unless you get rid of them manually at each battle using the menu. Hope this will be fixed soon.

same here. Makes me wonder who the heck tested this and give the okay sign. its ridiculous imo

Believe this bug is common to everyone. Have it myself and have seen lots of other complaints.

Damn. Just did a search and came up with this thread. Was really hoping someone had a solution for it. I've seen some youtube videos without the banner flags, and I was hoping.
