I'm done with the Grand Campaign

I'm done with the Grand Campaign, I've started 7 different ones, one after the other, and they are all unplayable after some time. The game CTD after loading them, they're no longer playable. In one I got to 1720, in another 1750 etc. This is ridiculous.

I feel ya. In my Spanish/French/English campaigns, I sometimes get to taste the feeling of having the colonies under control before the CTD happens. Around 1710 usually.

Oh it will. The more I play E:TW in its current shape, the more I love M2:TW. If they'd just clean it up, it'd be a classic game.

I had that exact same CTD as well.
I think that the next time I tried it, it didn't crash.

Same here. I get to around 1740 and the game CTD. I've tried saving and shutting down the game when the fleets or harbors start getting stuck and even restarting my comp in case its a mem leak hangover... no joy. Can't get past 1740 no matter what I do.

I don't like the sound of that. My Brit campaign, 1747, 2 of my best fleets get stuck/CTD if I touch them, so I have gone back a few turns hoping to get lucky.
I have noticed that if I click on an Admiral or something, the game has just started to take 10 seconds or so to respond on the Campaign map, and yet all was fine to recently. My PC is quite high spec

Am I doomed to loosing my 3rd campaign? Poop, how did this game get past testing, where's that Lusted chap, he's the QA man, what does he have to say!

I had to restart my great Prussian campaign was about at 1725. After the patch the battles kept saying "Insuffiecient video memory to run program". This happened for every battle I tried to play. Although I could play quick battles and the like. This purchase is the first and the last, until people decide to make a game that can be played.

Little tid-bit, I only came here because my game crashed AGAIN for the 50th time. Fun.

Anyone recall the talks to unify PC specifications so driver/hardware issues didn't dictate software's compatibility? It must be stated though that this problem is exclusively with the Win format. I'm using an operating system on my AMD x86 (Gentoo) that I could use on my SGI Indigo2 MIPS if I wanted, it's great. Linux runs on everything and runs everything save for Broadcom cards.

That's exactly what happens to me, although it happened a bit before the patch. Ruined my Marathas campaign around 1750 and my Prussian campaign around 1720.

You got farther than me, my friend. I consistently CTD at the end of my turn in 1709 w/ the Brits. I think I got farther using the Swedes.

I am interested in how many campaigns get past say 1750 before crashing, anyone here know how to setup one of those poll thingys?

I get the idea if you don't play the campaigns very often/very far you may not encounter many bugs, but the further I go with each campaign, the more problems I find, including more and more CTD's some of which can be got round and those great one's you can't.
