Its about time. I don't think people have a real good understanding as to just how miserable and violent the retaking of the islands was. Your talking the most concentrated fighting in modern times. Thirty-eight thousand men on an island less than a square mile in size, and less than 800 yards across.
They also need to make a series about Korea, and the Changjin Reservoir. Specifically, Toktong Pass. Where 218 Marines held off a force 4,000 Chinese assaulting the mountain pass over a five day period.
Fighting took place at night, where the air temperature, not wind chill, but the air temp, was -30F. Wounds flash froze, and guys that would have bled out, lived.
Fox Company ended up with 60-70 dead, and killed around 1,000 Chinese. Capt. William Barber's defense of that pass is still studied. He passed away in 2002.
