    Default Marrige and command stars

Does anyone know why when I use a princess to steal a general from another faction that after one turn he loses most of his command stars. I just used a princess to steal a five star general from the French, I end the Turn and he is now a one star general. This happen every time I use princesses to "acquire" generals.

To help the AI, AI factions get +3 stars for their generals.
It's just a way to give more moral to the AI in combat.

Even though he now has only one command star I have deprived the French of a 5 star general. that makes it an even trade

But every of their generals is in that range and now you'll have french blood in your family...

So if you really hated the french...

I was thinking that it would be better to get a general from them then to kill one. Especially if the general was a good one. I usually have 5+ assassins I use to thin out the numbers of enemy family members. I have taken out entire factions with just assassins. It seemed a shame to kill a 5 star general when I could get him for myself

I actually like taking Generals of other blood lines. When they have children, the children don't keep the father's last name, but do keep the blood line. So you'll have say French with names other then say Plantagenet if you used an English princess. Pretty cool creating different dynasties of French >I delete the children's blood from the father and replace it with the mother< in this case, while still related to the king.

I will leave no one alive in your realm; I will burn your city, your land, your self. If you wish to spare yourself and your venerable family, give heed to my advice with the ear of intelligence. If you do not, you will see what God has willed." -Hülegü, the "Destroyer of Baghdad"
