Default Survey: Obama Camp get's low rating

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/firs...latest-survey/

President Obama and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner received failing grades for their efforts to revive the economy from participants in the latest Wall Street Journal forecasting survey.
Their assessment stands in stark contrast with Obama's popularity with the public, with a recent Wall Street Journal/NBC poll giving him a 60 percent approval rating. But a majority of the 49 economists polled is dissatisfied with the administration's economic policies.
On average, they gave the president a mark of 59 out of 100, and although there was a broad range of marks, 42 percent of respondents graded Obama below 60. Geithner fared even worse, with an average grade of 51. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke scored better, with an average 71.
"The Obama team has blown it," said David Resler of Nomura Securities.
Some economists were underwhelmed by the $787 billion stimulus package, with 43 percent saying the U.S. will need another stimulus package on the order of nearly $500 billion. Others were skeptical of the need for stimulus. "The package already passed was too much too late," said Dana Johnson of Comerica Bank.
However, economists' main complaint centers on the administration's plan for the banking sector. "The most important issue in the short run is the financial rescue," said Stephen Stanley of RBS Greenwich Capital. "They overpromised and underdelivered. Secretary Geithner scheduled a big speech and came out with just a vague blueprint. The uncertainty is hanging over everyone's head."
Geithner unveiled the Obama administration's plans Feb. 10, but he offered few details, and stocks sank on the news. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down almost 20 percent since the announcement, as multiple issues have weighed on investors' confidence. In the ensuing weeks, the Treasury secretary has appeared before Congress and offered more specifics but has said action on key parts of the plan still is weeks away.
I think a lot of people would agree w/ the rating.

If the economist's main agruments are that
    "They overpromised and underdelivered"
dosn't that go agianst the normal justfication for FOX news. I would of thought they'd report on people being critical of Obama for over-spending (guess they already did that) So when someone disagrees with him it becomes a top new story for FOX now?

You notice that he is getting failing grades from some people because his stimulus was too small and from others because it was too big.

pretty crazy really, considering this amount of aid to a bunch of morons that control our planet has never been done in the history of mankind.

if i wasnt so cynical in my opinion of the economic department here in the West i would like, be shocked () and say "omg so much money being given to help ease the recession! thats fantastic!" Unfortunately we all know that this money, out of our pockets, is being thrown into a black hole never to be seen again. probably to be further exploited by these idiotic people that continue to sip champagne on the back of their yachts, having the ing cheek to give themselves horrendously large bonuses for screwing the entire planet and ruining thousands of peoples lives.

You can find a poll/survey/opinion to fit anything you want:

McConnell Seeks to Say Yes to Obama as Polls Pound Republican Rejectionism

March 11 (Bloomberg) -- Mitch McConnell, the most powerful Republican in the U.S. Senate, has so far had one word for President Barack Obama’s agenda: No.

Now, with his party being battered as rejectionist, the Kentucky lawmaker says he’s looking for something he can say yes to. The Senate minority leader, who has opposed every major Obama initiative since the president took office, says he sees the opportunity for agreement in areas such as foreign policy and overhauling Social Security.
“No one wants him to fail,” McConnell, 67, said in an interview. “But saying ‘no’ to bad policy is not saying ‘no’ to everything.”

More than good fellowship may be at work. Polls show that a majority of voters like Obama’s attempts to establish bipartisan cooperation and say McConnell’s Republicans are playing politics. In a recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey, 56 percent said Republicans were opposing Obama to gain political advantage; just 30 percent thought they were standing on principle.
This info is from the same poll as the OP is using, btw.

republicans are just desperately trying to stave off the death of the party

    RUSH PALIN 12!!!!!!!

    RUSH PALIN 12

only the republicans could pick a team stupid enough to allow the continued dominance of this government by democrats for probably the next 75 years.

Nope the Republicans are not desperate. And they are certainly not pushing Rush or Sarah on the national stage as viable candidates. You are just hopong for stupidity ig you believe that.

The Democrats have the reigns of power and are in the process of showing what happens without enough opposition votes to stop the idiot leadership from their worst habits. Another pork pack is passed and to save money in the budget the throw favors to the NEA and drop vouchers from the DC school system. Given enough time, the Republicans will pick up plenty in the next election cycle.

    Best of all:

Reporting from Washington -- President Obama railed against pork barrel projects on Wednesday. Then he signed a massive spending bill stuffed with them.

Still, Obama pledged to reform the earmarking process, unveiling a plan that he said was designed to make sure all projects that benefit from the practice of earmarking have a "legitimate" purpose.
Obama outlines his goals for earmark reform

So much for talk -- sign the pork and promise that this is the final time (third time that this is the last earmarked pork bill)

yeah actually republicans are desperate they have Joe wurzelbacher, a 14 year old idiot, a hilarious connective tissue disorder scarecrow woman, and a fatman addicted to painkillers as your leaders.

you guys are gonna whine like little babies as long as you can, but it wont do any good because Obama is doing the right thing, and the highly effective stupid machine the republicans got going is falling down

it will be just like last time -- 10 years of republican rule followed by 80 years of democratic dominance, get used to it.

Hardly, if Obama fails to revive our economy (which seems quite likely) the Democrats will be viewed as liars (well, aren't all politicians? ), him as a false 'messiah' (a liar who promised change - change for the worse perhaps) - and the Republicans will be forgiven, at least partially.

Though I am rooting for neither, I wish for the death of both parties or at least an end to their dominance in US politics.

I voted for Obama. But now I'm becoming increasingly "Meh". His actions clearly tell us that his rhetoric is not his action.

we talk in 4 years, obama will be elected again by the biggest landslide in american history.

and the only people that ever called obama messiah are republicans.

something to do with worship of the black mans penis I think.

What an interesting characterization. You have effectively slandered the opposition as racist despite valid and compelling logical non-racial reasons for objecting to his near-sighted bankrupting policies.

The problem with Obama is the rabid supporters that will stand by while he completely dismantles the economy with his wretched leadership and unwillingness to show some iron in the face of pork demand.

The people proclaiming him as messiah were his own party as they groaned and gnashed their teeth until all election results were in. How about you do everyone a favor and stop posting this kind of trash before you destroy whatever credibility you may have.

Years from now as our tax rates approach 80% to pay off all this needless, reckless, and heedless spending perhaps you will show a little more objectivity.

To be governed is to be watched, inspected, directed, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, and commanded, by creatures who have neither the right, wisdom, nor virtue to do so. To be governed is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, taxed, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, admonished, reformed, corrected, and punished. It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be placed under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted, and robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, abused, disarmed, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, and betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, and dishonored. -Pierre-Joseph Proudhon

I once thought I could never see more hyperbole than from Bush detractors. I have been thoroughly proven wrong.
