    Default rebel subfaction to be allied?

    Hi, I wonder if its possible to make a (rebel-)subfaction be allied with one player faction, while an other subfaction is at war/allied with.

    I have seen .. I think it was on arthur total war... that (the?) rebel faction can be allied, have diplomats, allow trade with them. However I did not find any info yet how to archive this.
    Any links or infos about that?

    Never tried the first. Doesn`t seem possible to me to achieve what you want.
    The slave faction as a whole can be made to be neutral(for example) instead of at war with another one by editing the faction_relationships entries at the end of descr_strat.
    You can also give them diplomats as to any other faction for the start of the game in descr_strat and also allow them to be recruited by the slaves from the governement buildings in EDB(like for the regular factions). I don`t know how much sense their diplomacy has though.

    One more problem would be that the AI has a heavy bias toward attacking a slave-held province, moreso than anything except possibly a human-held province. Even changing core attitudes apparently doesn't alter that.

    It may also be that it wasn't really the rebel faction, but another faction made to look like a rebel faction.

    Expand your borders, a mod based on XGM 5.

    Yes florin80, I know I can give them diplomats and stuff.

    The cause of my question was that I found in RTW allies-flags to some of the factions, however I have never seen them in game at any time, even not on factions that have become protectorates.
    So I wondered if there is a undiscovered/unused feature in RTW.

    Yes, I also know I could make a faction unplayable and 'fake' rebel (faction) but since the number of factions is sadly limited by CA anyway that would not help much, it would remove only one more playable faction doing so.

    Also I guess ATW had the full 20 (21) factions playable, maybe one of the mods that use advanced rebels behavior can explain what/how they done it?
    (People know their code and can proove that they did no 'magic' would help too )
