I don't think that the files in your attachment are enough. I played around with them a while ago but it wouldn't work when changed to a higher LOD by replacing LOD 2-4 files with LOD 1.

Well, sprites haven't been a problem for me before, when i quit playing with 1.2 or 1.3 i believe, but since i installed ETW again yesterday, the sprite seem to appear at a much lower range. Looks to me, like they improved performance by reducing the distance, but can't be sure. Wouldn't surprise me...

Anyway, ETW with 1.5 looks MUCH worse than it did when i quit playing it about 4 months ago. I would VERY much appreciate a fix for this.

BTW: The reason why this mod in particular doesn't work is very simple. It only switches the lowest quality MODEL (not SPRITE) to the second lowest quality MODEL.

It doesn't even touch the sprite. I'll look into it myself and report back if i find something helpful.

Makes sense what you talk about the models. Though, I'm pretty sure they haven't touched the sprites at CA. The elephants looked as horrible with 1.0 as with 1.5 when you zoom out. Same counts for horses etc. That's what I experienced anyway...

What i noticed is, that if a group of units is a certain distance away, only some of the units become sprites, and not necessarily the units that are farthest away, but it looks like there is mix between models and sprites at the same distance. Very strange. Looks to me, like there is something wrong with the whole distance "downgrade" system, or whatever you want to call it.

I haven't found a way to fix that yet, much more difficult with the ETW file system than with that of RTW and M2TW, which both had textfiles for this.

wish it could be done... but i really think there is no hope on this... ive been posting a request about creating some type of option menu to disable or reduce the draw distance in which they begin to apear

I made an updated LOD4 pack for ease, here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/n9nqce

Includes all released units to date. Enjoy

Updated re-upload 23.11.2012 - If the link goes down, PM me and I will make it available again.

Hello, does this pack work with ETW 1.6? Or which version does it work with?

I really wish this would work. Generalbodyguard, so you didn't see any difference?

I'm about to give it a go, if I could get rid of sprites I think it would double my enjoyment of ETW.

Apparently it worked with this http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...g-the-sprites), but not since the 1.6 update and the guy who made just abandoned it.
