Hi guys,

We will be rolling out the first of a series of updates later today with a variety of fixes for Empire: Total War, including:

• Fixed Alt-Tab issue which prevents players from switching away from a full screen window
• Fixed text rendering for certain resolutions
• Fixed localized font overrun issues.
• Fixed a variety of crash and memory leak issues
• Fixed a variety of multiplayer client lock
• Fixed trade nodes for those nations with resource in home region which caused unprofitable trade theatre routes eg: Sweden and Marathas.

There is a constant support program in process which is using your feedback as well as our own testing. We are currently working on the next update which will be available early next week.

Will they plop all the fixes onto one big patch, or it will be annoying to install 10 or so mini patches.

Good to hear CA supports Empire as good as they did it with the post TW Games. Looking forward to try the new patch. Especially the text rendering since I love to read the historical remarks which was getting a bit tiresome with the blurry text.

yeah thats the worst hehe. had a great game going as the UP and all of a sudden my game wont advance after i end the turn after a certain year. if my russian game screws up i will be really annoyed.

nice to see a quick patch , i notice no mention of performance improvements as mentioned previously , hopefully that will be next week.

Actually fixing some of the memory leaks should and no doubt will improve performance.

Agree. I was "afraid" of some "Two Patch" or patch limitations and then patches would take a long time to come. More and smaller patches will be so much better for everybody. I hope this is the way it goes. I have not even really played yet, sort of waiting for some issues to get fixed, so this is encouraging. In fact, were CA to go back and enhance and patch all of their games/add some content and so on, then all of their games could be livened up.

EDIT: How will we know if the patch is applied to our game? Will it say version 1.01 somewhere?
