"Muslim extremists hurled abuse at British soldiers during a homecoming procession in Luton today.

The 2nd Battalion of the Royal Anglian Regiment, returning from their second tour in Iraq, encountered the group shouting "Terrorists" and "Anglian Soldiers Go to Hell", outside Luton Town Hall.

As the parade by the 200 soldiers and a military band finished in St George's Square, police forced the protesters into a small area by the Arndale Shopping Centre to keep them apart from a large number of locals, some waving Union and St George's flags and shouting: "Scum" and "No surrender to the Taliban."

First of all you are just assuming the they are from A-STAN (come on its quite easy to type up the proper name of the country). Secondly, the soldiers were returning from their second tour in Iraq. Which in no way threatened the democracy and freedom of speech in Britain.

I think the Brits should up their propaganda against the Taliban, make them look evil, make it black and white, either with us or against us, sorta like WW2

This is why immigrants shouldent be allowed to emigrate if there are not going to support the culture and evironment of the country there emigrating too, i know that there is people who protest the war who was born there, but i doubt they would go as far as to support the taleban and call there own troops terrorists, disgraceful.

The protest is clearly in bad taste, but this is an example of democracy working at its finest. Isn't that why those troops went to Iraq? In the hopes that one day people can do things in bad taste and not be beaten or arrested for thier opinions (regardless at how stupid they may be)?
