New patch big problem with languages !!! (Solved by hotfix from 11.3.2009)

After i installed new patch riht now, when i go to battle, my game always get white screen and crash - i tryed 2 my campaigns and even custom battle - always after loading this crash, i had it only once before patch and now i cant play. WTF is this ??? I am really mad now.

But i cannot play the game anymore, i tryed put settings on low, try battles with 200 soldiers, then 2000 soldires on map, restarted game, steam ,pc - nothing helped. AFTER PATCH I CANNOT PLAY LAND BATTLES ANYMORE. I am extremely angry now, because before that i had absolutely no problems with game.

They will fix this in upcoming hotfix I hope.

THey need to fix performance / this crash problem ASAP!

I haven't gotten white screens ever, my game just shows the pink blobs when you get graphical error. They really botched the release.

I tryed my 2 campaigns and then normal custom battle - always crash after 2 - 3 seconds when battle loads. As i can see more and more people has this issue. And again i had no crash in battles before this patch.

Having just the same problem since the new patch is out, never experienced it before. I started a new game as Ottoman Empire with highest AI settings after installing the patch and every time I want to do a land battle myself the game crashes after loading the battle map. I can even scroll around for 2-3 seconds, as mentioned.

I hope that gets fixed real soon, because I'd love to play on...

At the first attempt to start the game after installing the patch I also experienced some display error which turned the game from a completely white to a black screen back and forth till I finally restarted the computer. But it was just then, the times after that it worked fine as always.

I'm also running the German version of the game. Mayhaps it's the same issue with me. Never checked the detailed failure message...

Does anyone else have this problem?

I have Czech version and all battles are ed up totally - crashing pieace of . Never had it before. Maybe its language problem ( doubt - but maybe all languages except english are poo poo now ), but fact is, my game is ruzined if i cant play any battle. Great patch, i like to read notes, mainly this one - Fixed a variety of crash and memory leak issues. Is this meant to be joke ??

It seems that only happens with non english versions and also affects naval battles...

Well I tried a "new" quick battle --> crash.

This must be the biggest epic fail in the history of epic fails caused by patches from CA. Yes, there is indeed a long and proud history.

Try someone switch language in steam, we can know if you switch to english if its still crashing or not. I mean change language of Empire : total war, not steam.

Hm that's odd. When I try to switch the language, there is no option for English but two for German. I'm using a british retail version though,

Maybe the first is actually English... ^^
However, I try French for now, even if I won't understand a single word.

Try someone with non english version switch to english. I am starting to think its really language issue. All my friends who have czech version of the game cannot play anymore battles - always crash.

After patch:

Seems more stable for me on the campaign map, though its early days. But still getting the occasional "insufficient video memory error" on 182.06 drivers under Vista when entering a battle. That's with a GTX280 with 1GB memory. All other 70 odd games I have are 100% stable.

Not impressed then with stability. I do love the game though. Its just all this crashing is ruining and tainting the experience some what.

It didnt solve my ONLY problem, "Clicking fleet = CTD" problem

same CTD problem over here...German version too. Never had any (besides 2-3 crasher after hours of intense gaming) crashes before!

I wouldn`t change the language it takes forever to download the required speech files (at least for me it did...so I cancelled and reinstalled )

Anyone using the new Nvidia beta driver too? Perhapps rolling back to an older driver will solve the issue
