    Icon5 KINGDOM of JERUSALEM

    Hello DLVers!

    I have made the family tree of Kingdom of Jerusalem since EUSTACHE [Ι] de Boulogne - grandfather of GODEFROI de Bouillon [who was elected princeps of Jerusalem on 22 Jul 1099] in an .xls file
    Click on the attachments to download the Jerusalem.rar file, then extract the Jerusalem.xls [Excel file] wherever you want...

    If you want to play as Regnum Hierosolimitanum [Crusader States] with a family tree based on the above file, then download the Agis-DLV-KoJ.rar file and extract the contents in the mods\DLV_ext folder.
    * This will overwrite some original DLV files.
    Note that I have changed the following names in cities:
    Tyre --> Tripoli
    Gaza --> Jaffa and Ascalon
    [and their respective titles, too]
    Also, I have added some more names for the elo faction
    [the names appear in a different format; example: BAUDOUIN IV of Jerusalem]

    Waiting for your opinion/remarks - they are always welcome!
    Cheers
    Agis

    A mini-mod is never late! Nor is it ever early. It arrives precisely when I mean it to do!

    I Know that but there are some missing persons in the family tree, that's why I will try to make this - if you agree, of course...

    Sounds cool, go for it.

    True wisdom is less presuming than folly. The wise man doubteth often, and changeth his mind; the fool is obstinate, and doubteth not; he knoweth all things but his own ignorance. --- Pharaoh Akhenaten,

    Search gfortune and look at the numerous mods I have made for a variety of KoJ mods for different major modifications. I think you are referring to the Baron's Crusade when the Jerusalem was initially taken. This is way past the time period for DLV.

    The current mod for DLV occurs near the end of the KoJ time period and the family trees are accurately portrayed in the historical DLV version. The main campaign has the main characters but allows the player to create their own family tree.

    I have seen many of your mini-mods and I like your work...
    What I am doing is just beeing accurate with all the characters that were related to BAUDOUIN IV "the leper King" at 1180 AD - the date the campaigns begin.
    As you can see in my files [check the first post] the family tree is 100% accurate and it is made as of the 1180 AD - with all relations between the various characters.

    I have searched all over the internet and I have made the .xls file [look at the first post]
    Then I made the family tree keeping in mind that I can only have 4 children per character - maximum [the most important ones]

    In my version KoJ, I attempted to provide a realistic situation at the time of 1180-81. The Teutonic Order owning KoJ province is not historical. Since the Teutonic Order is not realistic, then the castle was given to the KoJ, with the stepson of Raymond de Tyr, in control in both campaigns. I have kept the names simliar to DLV, as recommended by Repman. I also referenced extensively on the subject using the the major historians on the subject, "The History of Crusades" and "God's War", then directing to the WiKi.

    The historical custom campaign includes the actual major family genealogical trees and their surviving children in 1180, using the references above. The main campaign does not use the actual major family genealogical trees, with the exception of what is already provided in DLV. In the main campaign, no unit changes were done, with just adding Balian of Ibelin with a few units for both campaigns. The concern was not to add too much funds, add more fortifications, generals or units to cause an imbalance.

    You can give the control to Joscelin [III] of Edessa [Edessa was lost to the Muslims in 1144] who had his feif established near Acre from royal domain lands.

    In order to have a balanced campaign we/you/me can just add characters/generals and remove units.
    This will represent the very small crusaders' army at those times.
    [it will be like every character/general has only a small number of soldiers under his command - serving as his guards]
    The player will be limited to small campaigns in the begining.
    [just trying to gather his nobles and attack the rebels that are ruining the kingdom]
    I have tried this solution at my personal campaign and I was thrilled to try some battles having only 5-6 generals fighting against some 1000-1500 rebels.

    If you want some really good genealogical trees, search this brilliant forum:
    Foundation for Medieval Genealogy

    I hope I have been useful

    Cheers
