    Default Prevent AI bulking up

    Hi all. I have been playing the latest SS, 1450 Campaign as Byzantines. My question and reason i will not be playing anymore this is:

    Is there a way to prevent the AI and event the player from bulking up 4-5 companies in a small space like, walls or the gate?

    When I played the AI was pinned down on my walls by two elite troops from two sides and he sent there on siege towers about 4-5 companies, not to mention the troops on the gates. He did the same and got the boiling oil for that. I don't think those walls were made to hold 7 companies on them. This is really stupid to see all the enemy army on my walls while I am roaming around with my cavalry.

    What AI did you use?

    I understand you have a choice of Savage, Gracul and BYG. I was going to start as Byzantine too, so I am kind of interested to know what you used.

    The default from instalation. I will try the other now to see.

    To be honest, I think this Savage AI, which is the default option is a new one on me. I would try Gracul's, he refined and improved Lusted AI, which is fine for 6.1. Better luck with the next one

    Just figured out. On the RR RC download there is no othe battle AI, so I'm kinda stuck with this AI bulking up his troops on small places

    No No, read the sub mod instruction thread, about two thirds down, it explains about copying to the SS Data folder

    so you complaining that your cavalry which is already bad unit to defend against sieges.. didnt had free kills.. wait wait

    No. The cavalry I used it to defend the gates against ottoman infantry and Fari Cavalry and some saracens militias. The this is that this battle AI sent half of his troops on the siege tower and the other half at the gates. And it was a mess. The half from the gates got massacred by boiling oil while I was stuck with the other half on my walls, compressed so bad that no one had room to swing their swords . There was more of an battle of hugs.

    every ai gets pwned by boiling oil >_< maybe they should remove that all together from ss, well if battle wasnt easy for you.. ai did damn good job then

    It wasn't easy. It was just boring. I was playing in windowed mode and while the AI pushed it troops I was navigating the internet and just checking from time to time the battle

    maybe you should play red alert 3 if you enjoy seeing units 1 shoting each other.. go read your wikipedia.. how long constantinopole siege took..

    was it 15 mins like your battle.. or 15 days.. or 15 months..

    Only way to change this is to increase the x and y radius of soldiers so they maintain more space, which causes problems for field battles. When units are trying to force gates they will use units to attempt to push through. If you make gates harder to break you will see more wall assaults. This is a very difficult aspect to make work well.
