Anytime, I always was amazed at the amount of individual flags on the field during that period of warefare. I guess it had to be done to issue commands to specific units from a distance.

Yeah that one is very nice, it has the Ottoman Technologies of the time on it, alos the 2 flags of the internal and external governments. It looks like a Regimental flag based on its medals engraved into the crest. Also the Turkish Muslim crest. Dont know how the religious differences are during the Ottoman empire. I do know they let jews and christians worship freely (well with the exception of the Armenians but that was during another phase in history.). Thats flag should be used for sure. Nice find

Yes those French flags are very well designed, if you notice they engrave every battle or campaign on each regimental flag.

No, those are the first republic regimental flags (well, demi-brigade actually).

From 1794 to... I don't know when they stopped to be used actually, probably Napoleon's coup and the consulate.
