    Default Unlocking Elite Limits?

Any intention/possibility that the cap on elite units might be removed?
The Monks of Cool, whose tiny and exclusive monastery is hidden in a really cool and laid-back valley in the lower Ramtops, have a passing-out test for a novice. He is taken into a room full of all types of clothing and asked: Yo, my son, which of these is the most stylish thing to wear? And the correct answer is: Hey, whatever I select.

Hm.. what's the names and limits of such units? I can look for them while I'm trying to figure out the units_stats_land file.

Edit: Never mind, I found it. It's in data/db/units_tables/units
All the units in the game is in that file, along with conditions for training (where they can be trained) and, if applyable (is that a word?), the max trainable of that unit.
See this thread for more info:

Well, take the Republican Guard for example.
It starts at address 0x0001BB75 with a short int that tells you how many characters are in the name; 21. After that there's some rubbish about what it's called in the game, you'll be surprised to know that it's called, in fact, "Republican Guard"..
A few lines down, at address 0x0001BCB1 it says "g.l.o.b.a.l.". This means, I guess, that the unit can be trained anywhere in the world by the faction(s?) that have the ability to train the unit. After g.l.o.b.a.l. there's a 32-bit int that says 06 00 00 00. This is the maximum amount if this unit that can exist at the same time. Change this to, for example, 14 00 00 00 to be able to train 20 of those units, or maybe it'll even work to set it to 00 00 00 00 for an infinite number of that unit.
Note that I haven't tried any of this myself, it's just an educated guess..

Oh, and if you want to search for a unit in that humongously large file (and if you use HEX Workshop) you can click search, change it to search for a text string and click the Unicode String radiobutton. That way you can just type whatever string you're searching for, like "Victory" and it'll convert that to HEX itself. Very helpful!

Heh, I've been asking this for days. Guess I should have just made a thread on it.

But yeah, it worked. And you're right about the "global" thing--I did the same edit for USS Constitution, and it had "usa" instead of "global." Fascinating.

That has nothing to do with anything, friend. This thread has to do with campaign mode build caps on elite units and has nothing to do with activating content that has not been purchased.

Please do read the thread first.

Could someone upload already changed file with unlimited recruitment for those units. Its little bit annoying to have just 1 or few of those nice units ( not only speacial forces have limitations ). Thanks.

Indeed. Having more than a few elites might spice up the troop line-up a bit in battles.

The latest version of the unpacker makes it very easy to do this. It allows you to edit the files inside the pack, without having to do all the extracting. Just open the patch pack file, go to unit_tables under the db folder and select units. On the far right (between the region and mp category columns) is a column stating unit limit. Just change the ones you want unlimited to 0 and save the file.
