Give the land back to owner.
Hey guys, long time TW player here. Polska seems to get a lack of respect on this forum but I love my heritage and love the challenge.
I was wondering if I could get some advice for my campaign. The year is 1735 and my map looks basically like this:
I apologize if it's hard to see. Among others, I have brought down the Swedish, Prussians, Austrians, and kicked the Ottomans out of Europe. I am content with the Empire I have created but would like an opinion on what my next move should be. The way i see it, I have four choices -
-Betray my one ally and take over Russia, solidifying a Western Europe Empire.
-Eliminate the overwhelming Ottoman Pirates in the Mediterranean by destroying what's left of their "Empire."
-Continue eastwards and unite Continental Europe under a single flag.
-Build a naval fleet (I have one at this time, been concentrating on land forces) and start a colony in America.
With my financial power and battle hardened troops, the only way I could see my downfall would be to stretch my empire too thin, thus while I would want to carry out all the aforementioned options over the next 65 years, I feel two tops would be feasible. Thanks for any input.

In this century poland was only minor power and found the end in the timeline of the game. Also polish hussaria as landowner militia heavy cavalry was outdated by this century.
Also not saxony was protectorate of poland, poland was a protectorate from Saxony ruled by german Augustus III.
So called polish state was a puppet in the hands of neighbors.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augustus_III_of_Poland
Game starts in 1700, Partitions end in 1795. It's still much time to prevent that, and besides in 1700 P-L still had potential and wasn't in deep crisis yet.
"Landowner Militia" Heavy Cavalry? Apart from naming them a heavy cavalry, I don't find a clue how someone could called them a "landowner militia" (I think you have on mind noble levy), they were professional troops not a militia. Also polish hussaria as landowner militia heavy cavalry was outdated by this century.
Heard about something called royal elections? How could PLC be a protectorate of Saxony, if the Polish (Saxon) King, hadn't got any real power in Polish politics. Also not saxony was protectorate of poland, poland was a protectorate from Saxony ruled by german Augustus III.
Ps. And please start such discussion in Historical Research thread and not here.

If you want believe that polish husaria was not landowner militia but professional troops then believe it but think that 1775 husaria was abolished!
The point is that poland could not decide for itself anymore but I say it again not polish king ruled over saxony, saxon ruler ruled over poland.
Young friend please understand at this century not poland decided what it do, neighbors did it for poland, poland was only juristic a state but not more in real long time before it was abolished.

@INFUA You clearly have no respect for our people and culture. You don't know anything about our history so why comment? And by the way 2 more things.
1) Wiki is your source? Thats sad.
2) Learn to speak proper English.
PS Get some respect for our nation

call me crazy but i like having russia as a nice firm ally. it seems to me that invading the huge russian territory would take forever, while the situation in europe seems to be pretty fragmented. I would push the ottoman's border, and at the same time, eat up everything until you hit frances' border.
Sure that will piss them off, just send them some money beforehand and they'll stay quiet.
I've decided to invade the rest of the Ottoman Empire, built up four full stacks and was ready to move. The invasion stalled as I didn't realize crossing from Istanbul to Turkey would require a ship present. With no navy, my grand army could only shake their fists at the Ottomans. I have since begun building a warm water navy in my southern European provinces. I like Russia as an ally as well but I fear once I block off their expansion possibilities to the south, they'll be forced to attack eventually.
Every campaign is different but the Russians make two quick moves (First turn) for southern Ukraine and (Third Turn) Moldova, I would immediately make a break for Moldova. As mentioned, attacking Austria brings the British against you, which really hurts your trade via pirating. Generally, I made alliances and waited for someone to attack one of my allies therefore I was justified to go to war.I got the game but have to wait till I get a new computer. Since I'm going to play as Polska, what fraction should I take? My idea was to kick the Prussian out so I have to Baltic sea and push south to destory the Austrain. Poland is awesome but they are always surrounded by so many rivals and superpower.
It will- even if the Russian forces are far weaker than yours, Russia is so de-centralized and massive that the number of turns it takes you to move an army consisting of any artillery or infantry whatsoever will give Russia time to slowly pick away at you so that by the time you get to where you want to go, your army is far weaker than it started out as. It takes me 3-4 turns simply to move my gentleman that is in a neighboring region to Moscow into Nizhny Novograd (a school)
Plus winter will probably be a, but I wouldn't know myself as my main enemy is Sweeden and I can't imagine cold effects them much more than it does Russian units. However, Russian cavalry is at best on par in the late period, and since cavalry is where Poland really shines, there is a good chance. The stupidity of AI helps as well.
Here is a brief summary of my strategy:
I'm also playing Poland and my map looks very similar to yours. Yesterday I conquered Prussia, Austria, and Sweden. What I'm doing right now is preparing a full attack on Denmark. I've prepared my army to attack its 2 cities in Europe, one in Norway and one in Iceland.
After the war with Denmark, I'm planning on expanding toward western Europe and conquer France and Spain.

Strategic Guide For Poland-Lithuania:
1) First of all, start researching basic military formations etc. When you feel that you have what you need to start kicking ass, switch and focus on industrialization!
2) Invest a lot of your treasury and focus into recruiting Line Infantry & Militia (lol - only at start ofc), and a few cavalry units would also be handy.
3) While building up a huge force that may - or may not lead you into total bankruptcy - DON'T PICK FIGHTS with the major and overpowered nations around you. And as we all know, Poland is surrounded of "friendly" nations.![]()
You got to make it work, or you will be pretty much screwed from the start tbh.
4) Conquer Courland, minor nations are always easy to acquire, and as our little friend Courland relied on us as a Protectorate, they will get a pleasent surprise...
5) When you have a respectable force, atleast 4 fully stacked armies, focus atleast 2 general's on Sweden's S:t P, as they have probably declared war on one of your allies.
6) Push S:t P and conquer it, reinforce the area with more military units. Then just push easily towards Stockholm, taking over Finland on the way over. PS! If you have a navy, use it to transport your forces rapidly to Stockholm! I had the pleasent surprise after conquering Stockholm, that the Swedes still had a stronghold, the colder and rocky oil-baron Norway. So off to Christiania!
So after struggling a bit with Sweden, focus the remaining forces, reinforce them if necessary, and go conquer Copenhagen. This will immidietly give you an upper hand over the Western European superpowers and nations.
SO! Poland-Lithuania, stretched North/East towards S:t P and entire Scandinavia should be ours within 20-30 turns.
7) Focus your forces towards Prussia, if possible, use your Northern European forces on Brandenburg (Berlin) while focusing newly recruited troops from Warsaw and Courland towards Königsberg. Depending on the reactions from other nations... well, you should atleast prepare yourself for conflicts.
I had no HUGE difficulties taking over Prussia, but it's still a pimple in the behind. xD
8) The Austrians were surprisingly enough not that big of a deal, sure most of my armies were destroyed, but the cities were quite undefended and overwhelmed by my forces. And as Vienna is one of the key objectives in the Campaign, Austria gives you a nice positioning of spawning several units on a quite small area.
9) So, Austria and Prussia is now a part of our Empire. Start building ships.
10) With several small nations working as a barrier between your territory and the powers of France and United Nations, you can easily break up with your big assed girlfriend Russia. Focus forces from S:t P, Warsaw, well just send troops... But the Russians ain't no easy pie... No Sir !
11) The Russian extermination-campaign is like.. The most anoying ever. xD
Takes a lot of effort and time to conquer the scattered cities, but they aren't that well defended. Start with sending troops from your southern borders towards Kiev. Troops from the center towards Moscow. Troops from S:t P towards the northern cities (Archangelsk etc).
The bad thing about the Russians is that they usually have small forces, like 1 batallion, and when you conquer a Russian territory, they will send this batallion back and forth within the newly conquered area, and burn up your villages etc.
Oh well... Just work it ! ;D Their eastern cities are crap and undefended most of the time. Easy peasy. Moscow is a boulder ofing trouble, will take time before the rebellions and rioting ends. Keep as many men as you can spare in Moscow.
12) You should have your ships ready and Northern, central and Eastern Europe should be yours withing 50-ish rounds.
13) Deploy your navy, filled with military units, towards Florida (hopefully belongs to Cherokee Nation still)
14) Repair everything on your European theatre, your industrialization-research should be quite developed. UPGRADE LIKE HELL!
15) Conquer Florida with lots of troops. Plantations = muuunay.
Get your ass as far up as Detroit. So about 4-5 territories should be conquered in America. Cherokee Nation destroyed, hopefully, bring a lot of units - not joking.
16) Simply stay friends with the Ottoman's and India, develope good friendship with these factions and trade agreements is a must !
17) After establishing a lot of industry in Europe and America, you should have about 7-8 schools to your disposal - Spread out your research.
18) Now, I stayed Allied with GB and the Ottoman's during everything. Would be quite wise actually to do so actually. (Also had trade agreement with GB during their existence). When I spent more cash on making sick armies in Europe, I discovered that the Ottoman's had Scotland ! :O
After a war with Venice, I conquered the little area near Athens, I traded that for Scotland, giving me a sick advantage over GB. Transfered troops from Iceland (after destroying Denmark) to Scotland, while creating even more troops in Edinburgh. GB wanted to trade Scotland back, but hey... Where's the fun in that?
After deploying navies garrisoned with armies and canceling my alliance with Great Britain I launched an offensive on Dublin, Ireland from Scotland, while having troops remaining in defense near Edinburgh. They sent troops towards Edinburgh.. Ofc.. Then I came with my navy from Denmark-area and I had a little luck with the British navy being busy with the french fleet. I settled my 3 generals near London, taking over the entire island.
19) GB downed, 13 Colonies arise, right? WRONG! I had prepared with troops near the border to the former British colonies in America. The first turn the 13 colonies appeared, I deployed troops and had almost no resistance.
20) Pushed all countries out of the way in Europe, forcing the United Nations, France and Spain to surrender their colonies in peace treaties, then I just conquered them again next turn.
Now I've pretty much got all of America and most of Europe, drawing the border in the Balcans with the Ottoman's.
Trade agreement with India and Ottoman's remain, making me over 1 million in income per turn.
And yes, this guide is for h/h or vh/vh - but may be used on easy if you want to! Though you can pretty much conquer everything with 1 general on easy.
HOPE YOU ENJOYED MY BOOK CLASS!
sry if you found mistakes, cba to read it through.

My prestige, also, the European continent is shown in the mini-map.

Although it has the effect of giving the game the feel of a premature end...your best option (imo) is to blitz through the rest of Western Europe. France and England are much easier to conquer than you'd expect (easier than austria in any case) and once they're out of European regions their overseas colonies rebel. The dutch are far too easy to take out...just one city. In any case, take out a nation or 3. Once the home-nations are destroyed it makes collecting colonies much easier.
What i did was go through the ottoman empire get to about Syria, make peace then head into Persia. From Persia i attacked the Mughals and made a peace with the Maratha. Then i went back to Syria and conquered the rest of the ottoman and barbary empire. Then just for the hell of it i attacked Prussia and decimated their whole expansion. Then i conquered other Protestant countries, and finally took back english naples [they won it in a war with spain]. I then surrounded England with my massive fleet [with help from france and spain] and conquered london. [ i got ireland]. i then gave back naples to the italian city-states conquered venice and venetian greece.
I'd take over Russia, kind of a Napoleonic deed. And they are going to attack you sooner or later as you walled them. Thanks btw for registering and posting, I see this is your first post. What are your experiences with this faction so far? Could you give us some useful tips and hints?
I would destroy the Ottoman Empire, as their wealth would make the other objective's far easier, whilst granting you land access to India. Also I suggest you purchase a colony of one of the faction's, which would save the risk's of having to conquer a beach-head. Maybe Rupert's Land, or Florida. Both are good potential beach-head's. As for Russia, their land's are big. Very big. But the output is poor and it wouldn't be much worst it. Plus there is the weather. I would suggest siezing the Baltic Ocean and the Black Sea, as they make great trading empire's.
Also something to consider purchasing is that Dutch/United Province's isle in India. The name slip's my mind, but that would make a great staging area for invasion, or a trading fleet. Whatever your choice, good luck with your campaign. I hope all goes well, back to Prussia for me.![]()
"For Prussia do we lay low those whom would oppose her might? For the King do we unleash death unto those whom do not deserve it? A matter of King and Country, but when one is not the other, it is a matter of Service or Duty. O'hell! My sword be the key to victory! O'hell! Would that it were not so! O'god! Now we march into death's embrace! O'Prussia, O'King, we stand as brother's in arm's, against the tide's of your enemies! Fact being that one's enemies, is the other's friend. To whom do I owe fealty, to whom do I turn in this dark avenue? To whom do I pledge my allegiance, my service? Ride on, ride on . . . into death's embrace."
I like the polish campaign. My map is pretty close to yours, except i've conquered denmark and the rest of the ottoman empire as well. I also managed to get span to give me new mexico, and i've been pumping monies into it, so hopefully i'll have a nice little base soon.
I've also just put my second naval fleet out, they are a great way to make money. I made 12k in one turn once, with a single fleet, just from prizes.
