    Default Empire time period movies

I just came up with the idea about posting all the information about the movies concerning Empire: Total War period. The time of the action doesn't have to be exactly 1700-1799, but quite close as we could find some interesting material in it.

Of course I don't have to remind that we're mostly interested in historically accurate films.

Most of us know the Hollywood productions such as The Bounty or Master and Commander. But there are older movies with perfect sceneries, plot and cast which deserve at least a word.

Also we all come from different parts of the world so there's a chance that some other production, for example Turkish or German, is little known outside the borders, even if popular at home.

So - ladies and gents - post the titles here. To make it work better first put the English title (or title translation) and then original one.
So finally I bought Total War: Rome 2. Regarding I payed 7.5$ for it, it's not a bad game at all!

Pirates of the Caribbean... I don't think dates are ever mentioned, but the 18th Century would be right in terms of costume and general events

Somehow it's more fantasy than history. And the story is set up more in 17th than 18th century. Polanski's "Pirates" suits better, but that's my opinion.

"Barry Lyndon" would be excellent choice. It shows all the aspects of the British society of the age.

Thanks guys. But stilll please add the information about the director.
