If you follow some of the guides on this site and make your own mod.pack then the patch won't affect you but if you just edit in the pacth.pack then a patch will wipe your alterations.
i heard LT was gonna release a mod manager so i cant wait for thatand ill wait for it by the way question LT will i have to edit the names like say i want to edit my mod mrthibs told me to edit infantry you have to make a new file and add the unit i want to edit and edit it their in that folder or ctd please do tell i hope it's not what we need to do but we'll find out

Crap! Doesn't work, I get white screen and an error report. Darn it!
All I did was alter range, accuracy and erased platoon fire. Should I have replaced platoon_fire with Rank_fire instead ?

editor is failing to locate the DBfiletypes. It's getting a 404, as well as I am when I try to access it manually

Oki, found the mistake guys. I needed to erase the WHOLE bar where the platoon_fire_group was listed, both of em.
Now it works. Many many thanks guys. Very simple and easy it truly is.

found out how to make explosive cannonballs. clone rocket_naval in the projectiles_explosions table and change the second column to "percussive". Go to the projectiles table and change the Explosion IDRef on one of the Naval guns to whatever you named the cloned file you made in projectiles_explosions(keep in mind this affects all ships with such guns. I used the '42s, removing them from the galleys first of course). Voila, exploding cannonballs, the technology rendering all wooden ships obsolete. Obliterates Heavy first rates, leaving them on fire with 1-2 crew and guns left, if not exploding them outright.

aufneer you think it's possible to increase the blast radius? i want to make my percussion shots have bigger radius if some one can make models then those who want a world in conflict total war can make it just increase the blast radius and modelsi make good mod ideas lol oh and by the way when is the mod manager gonna be released? i cant seem to get it too work when i do mr thibs tutorial
moisejns, I think there is a variable for blast radius, which is whats causing the ships to explode so easily, as it spreads the explosion throughout the ship, detonating the magazine automatically with 1 or 2 shots. i'll look into later.
Edit: I think I found it. It WAS set to the same radius as the ship magazine explosions x_x

I set it to 2, and I can explode a 2nd rate with a Heavy 1st rate broadside

I believe I found what controls the inaccuracy of a "spray" weapon (e.g grape shot and canister shot.):

I have not tested nor plan on it at the moment what leads me to believe this is I increased this number on a single shot bullet for my sharpshooter unit I'm making and he hits 99% of the time when I set this value to even 1 he missed every single shot they went off at weird trajectories. Also you will notice only projectiles with the whole "spray" thing going on have this on: rockets, canister, organ and grape.

Oops, repository restructuring caused the 404. Fixed now.
i still got the error message about five minutes ago, i will try it again... i could still edit everything though.

yes that's it...I posted it like 15 pages ago but no one noticed >.>
closer to 0, the tighter the spread. for instance, Grenzers are set to 1, whilst things like grape and canister are set at like 10. I used this to make shotgun Windbusche Jaegers and Grenzers. Two of them will annihilate any unit...I stacked 4 against a full stack of British black watch. I lost like 4, they lost roughly 3200.
