Empire total war campagin lag problem

I just bought empire total war speical forces edtion yesterday and i seem to have a problem...
whats happing is that when i play in campagin mode i lag alot when i click stuff like a ship unit docks cities etc... but in battle i hardly get lag (still get a little lag when horse units are running) and the loading screens take soo long...also i can only put my graphics on low or medium and i cant put hdr on ( i have hd) i was able to play fallout 3 with high grahpics and hd on.. i was able to play medieval total 2 with ultra high grahpics and 5200 troops on the battlefield so can anyone help me? by the way im on a lap top..

yea man its been happening to everyone (just about) the campaign map is rly bad right now... there are no known fixes and the general consensus is we will all just have to wait until the patch this coming week.

I have got almost same problem. When I click on docks (i made mod-unlimited limited units one turn building research etc) and DEP crash (first freeze).Any solutions? I have disabled DEP... :/

I have the 1.3 patch and the movements on the campaign map are okay in vanilla form. In act just to see how good CA did I clicked on everything on the map including docks, ships in and out of dock, cities, troops, characters of interest and no ctds. If, after modding files and you get ctds, that is the modder's fault, not CA's. Check your spelling, punctuation marks, spaces, etc. In text files, they are some of the easiest to ruin your hard work and some of the hardest to find to correct.
