Default "Fakes/Distractions" Do you use them and how?

Fakes/Distractions in the battlefield are normally highly difficult and risky if accomplished, as it is normally hard to forsee future circumstance. Only advance and accomplished players use them as weapons in their huge array of arsernal, as there are rarely seen.

Not that i am either advance or highly accomplished, i just find this tactic amusing and fun to use. If you guys have any ideas pls post and comment. Thxs for reading!

Units Required: Solid versatile battle line) but must have- archers, jinetes, light cavalry and Lamtuna Spearmen.

    Strategy
Position your battle lines, and have the light cavaly on either ONE side(LEFT or RIGHT). Have 1 lamtuna spearmen rush to the side of the enemy with heavy cavalry(a bit more than the central of the battlefield) while your jinetes pelt at the heav cav as well.
IF the enemy cavalry takes the bait and sends his cavalry to kill your spearmen - now here is where experience comes, hit the schiltrom formation at the right moment and the cavalry will be shellshocked and smacked. If the enemy heavy cavalry is powerful and strong with a General then yes it would win but not after casualties. AT THE meantime, (while his cavalry is occupied) send your light cavalries eg arab cavalry to take off their muskets, skirmishers and archers on the other side of the battlefield. What turns out to be a easy prey becomes a huge smack in the thigh<WHY DID I DO THAT>?

    Choice of Units
Lamtuna Spearmen- Here I go again, (any1 would hate or dislike this units, please speak up and debate with me lo), there are every light infantry commander's dream. They are mobile, durable, very hardy, solid, effective against cavalry, well trained and disciplined. What more can you ask for?

Jinetes: They are the units used to annoy(or pick off valuable troops safelyon their ponies) and mop up the gravy after a savvy dinner.(if you get what i meanXD) Also to divert attention from the archers so that they won't pick on the poor unarmoured lamtunas, not that I want the precious ponies dead.

Archers: Are to keep the opposing archers busy, so that they won;t divert their attention on your lamtunas. AND USE FLAMING ARROWS!

Light Cavalry: To kill of those pesky archers, javilineers and muskets( Oh u so know that I HATE the muskets, they are so cheap and they does not fulfill the TOTAL WAR essence-== picking off units yards away with gun noises instead of war cries=().

    END
Your enemy would have lost most if not all of those archers and muskets. Now use your tactically brilliance and out-manuever your enemy with those light and mobile infantries and cavalries of the moors. Remember, while the moors offers an adventurous style of play, DO NOT OVERPLAY, Moors are a balanced and flexible faction, however relying on its light infantries and late heavy units for success. Moorish armies have a steep learning curve and may be hard for new players to draw up tactical plays and plans when the odds are stacked. REMEMBER- MANUEVERABILITY-MOBILITY AND CREATIVITY is success to any Moorish commanders.

    Happy Gaming!

(P.S don't forget those heavy cavalry, they are not all dead yet.LOL)

Yep, thats right, Moorish armies normally do have the upper hand when it comes to numbers. Moorish armies does excel in fakes due to the high mobility their spearmen possess and their natural ability to defend well against mobile threats such as cavalry in the open field(schiltrom formation?). You could also try thin out the enemy heav cavalry by sending multiple spearmen some in the sides and middle, to really confuse the enemy player and increasing the chances of them keeping their eyes on the distractions. Never to mind, ur spearmen is fast enough to run from charging knights(not arrows though=/) and would massacre any light cavalries or even deal a severe blow to the heav cavalries.

    In the meantime, happy gaming!

I think that the speed of foot soldiers is a function of armor. So the Moors trade the ability to avoid receiving missile hits for mobility. The Dismounted Knights are the opposite. I personally like the Moors, but they need the Jihad and spamming numbers of cheap units to make up for quality. High command stars does not hurt either.

Fair enough, so, lets analyse the 'speed' and the 'function' of the armour. Personally, to me they are both fairly equal, trading mobility for protection-vice versa, thats why in any war, versatility is extremely important in wing large battles.

    Armour: Advantages
Offers instant protection against all missiles that struck, arrows, bolts, javelines--etc
Offers protection against swords, blades, lances, u get the point.
Heavily armed troops are normally professionals or highly skilled troops, making them formidable soldiers in the battlefield. (this only/usually applies to the Western Powers)
    Disvantages:
    Lack Mobility-Slow
    Fatigue a lot easier
Hard to manuever around the battlefield due to their speed
    Bad stamina

    Speed: Advantages
    MAnueverebility
    Does not tire fast
    Moves fast
    Good stamina
May hide better than its heavier counterparts
    Disadvantages
Not as adept in melee fights, weak against its heavier counterparts
Missiles are very dangerous against these troops

both have their strengths and weakness, on my personal opinion, I prefer the lighter troops because they offer more versatility and style of play for a creative tactical general. The heaver troops however are easier to use and are more reliable in lots of situations

    In the meantime, Happy Gaming!

Hmm, it works well having light cavalry run right next to them, and stop some ways off, or bring some infantry up to their flanks and move your main army, they seem to turn towards the most threatening/closest force to them
