Not too sure if this is any true. Given, this is quoted from a religious website. But I just to ask TWC high school students in the US if such is common in their institutions.

My school has a teacher that hosts religious prayer during lunchtime in his classroom. So, no, its not common.
What probably happened was that the students were being terribly disruptive.

Who knows what really happened? If they really werent bothering anyone else and were just having a prayer session to themselves outside of class, I don't think that's anything to get suspended over. Although, I could actually imagine them getting humiliated a lot from other people.

Doesn't appear to be a particularly impartial source. Maybe this isn't the whole story?
Christians would LOVE to be the minorities and be victims of persecution, it is what they are best at. However, they NEVER have been nor EVER will be a minority in the US, so they need to stop trying to appeal to pity.
This individual case is weird. Like, really weird, and it seems totally fabricated. A "satanist" student? What? And I can't think of any principle I have ever known or heard of who would stop student gathers because they are about religion and not American Idol.
At my high school, there were several clubs that were based in religion in some way, it wasn't uncommon. And that was just fine and dandy because they were just clubs, no one cared.

I have approximate answers and possible beliefs, and different degrees of certainty about different things, but Im not absolutely sure of anything, and many things I dont know anything about. But I dont have to know an answer. I dont feel frightened by not knowing.

This part of the article says it all. After a Satanist student approached school administrators to complain about the prayer group, Vice Principal Alex Otoupal told the Christians they could no longer meet.
The article is biased, and isn't telling us the whole story.
Clearly, there is more to this.
"Satanist" coming from a Christian website isn't to be trusted.
These people call anyone who disagrees with them "Satanists"...
If I see mainstream media sources confirming that the student in question is a satanist, as well as some indepedent sources, then I'd believe it.

I gathered. Back in Berkeley, there's:there were several clubs that were based in religion in some way
1. Chinese Christian Association
2. HK Students for Christ
3. Korean Campus Crusaders
4. Korean Christia Association
And so on~~
And I thought Berkeley turned religious. In the end, I just discovered religion turned Asian in Berkeley.

This is coming from an incredibly biased source. This would not have happened they way they describe it -- and for god's sake, come on. A SATANIST, oh god no!
No...I don't think so. As I have said, my high school, and ALL the high schools in my area, have christian related clubs. School systems are NOT picking on Christians. Now, Christianity should not be part of the curriculum for school, but it is not being hunted down. Once again, this is just some paranoia that the "Christian way of life" is under attack.
No, it is just that there aren't as many "satanist" high school kids as there used to be. Darn shame.![]()

Well, as I said, I am speaking from the perspective of Canada, who's society is a mirror of American society in the north east. The primary differences are: we are more white, we are more Christian, and we are more PC. So maybe it does not happen often in America, yet, but do you think it wont? It's a natural evolution.
Would Muslims have been subjected to the same treatment?
