    Default Avoiding the tradefleet bug(How-to)

    Not sure who all has figured this out, but the bug where when you put a trade fleet on the circle and it isnt actually generating income, is due to the fleet.

    For example, when you are going to put a trade ship on the circle, it has always worked, at least for me, if i have at least one ship in the same fleet as it, and that ship DOESNT LEAVE ever. It must stay there. I pulled my ships off a trade fleet once and it bugged, and could not put it back or move the trade ship.

    If you sailed in the trade circle with say 5 sloops and a trade ship, you will be fine if you take 3 sloops out of the area, so long as one of them stays. If it does get bugged, click your trade ship, scuttle it and send a new one.

    Thats the best I can do, it works for me 100% of the time, sorry if its been posted already.

    the bug only occurs if you split your fleet whilst ON the trade post.

    SO to split a fleet move it OFF the trade post, then split it, and move a TRADE ship back on to the trade post.

    remember that some of the non-idiamen ships are also trade ships - they will have a little yellow orb on their card to denote them as traders.

    Isn't that the opposite of what the first post said?

    The original post seemed to say, don't take your fleet completely off the trade zone because when you get back on it, it might not work. Therefore, you should split your fleet so one ship always stays on it.

    i ahve not even encounterd this bug at all....i jat build say 4 trade ships merge them together and sail over the the trade circles...if one is empty i place my boats on them and leave them............by clicking on the dotted trade lines comming from the circle i can see how much i am getting.....anyway iv never see a bug

    I got a few ships stuck in Brazil... I sent a few military ships in first to hold the place and they won't come out, whether I try to split them or as a group. Funny thing is, the Indians got there and they didn't merge with those stuck fleets! Dunno what to make of it...

    haha in my campaign the pirates bugged themselves. i cant attack them but i can use the trade spot for myself. suckers. the only downside is i actually wanted to attack them and steal their galleons for myself.

    This bug is stupid and compeltely ruining trade for me.. its such a waste of my time to build new Indiamen and send them over to the trade zones.. I lost two trade routes this way, such a pain in the ass

    also, is there any way to see what kind of item you can trade before setting your ship on a trade zone??

    All of regions send the same types.

    North Africa = Ivory
    East Indies = Spices

    Just as an example.

    i figured it out, it costs a bit tho but works for me always, promote it/them to admirals and then move them out of the tradespot, then demote then to normal trade ships again and move them back to the tradespot.
