    Default Landsknecht Music

I just find a few youtube videos of somes that the German landsknechts could've sung in their marches. I think the background has to do with Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximil..._Roman_Emperor) and his wars in the Flanders.

This one probably has to do with Charles V of the Holy Roman Empire thrashing Francis I in Pavia. Basically, Jorg / Georg von Frundsberg captured the French king at Italy.

One more with some drum lyrics.

Just want to share, and all.

Default Marching Music of Medieval German Mercenaries (Landsknecht)

This is ing awesome, these are the actual songs Landsknecht German mercenaries sang and marched to when on campaign in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, France, etc.

That one sounds kinda Soviet, sorta.

    That is ing bizarre!

    How the..

I seriously did not see that at all.

Who'da thunk it, very same obscure ass songs, only a day apart.

    That is actually kinda creepy.

BTW, the first one I posted isn't in seph's topic, so go ahead and enjoy it.

To be honest, I find the interpretations simply horrible.

The songs themselves are nice though.

I know Landsknecht tour Europe with their tross (family + followers) behind them. Europeans fear them because Landsknecht + family means that Landsknecht can carry more loot.

    Btw:
The Huguenots are a bunch of usurpers. Bourbons (mercenary in their faith) stole the throne from the Valois (corrected). Boo....
    (LMAO)

Most Landsknechts won't fight each other or at least make a brief show of it when they're in opposing camps. The exceptions would probably be against the Black Regiment or the competing (economically) Reislaufers from Switzerland (who thrashed Maximilian I and gained independence for the Swiss Confederation).

From Valois. Valois stole it from the Capetians.

Anyways, nice find. And I kind of agree with Blucher, weird interpretations

Now that we're at it, doesn't Vercingetorix have any offspring...?

And I've got to partly agree to Blücher, the transcriptions are slightly inaccurate. But not as bad as to call them "horrible".
In the upper vid., it's not "Rideran, Landsknecht voran, Landsknecht voran", but "...frisch voran, Landsknecht voran". That kind of inaccuracy.

Oh, and there's not "wind blowing from the money" ("...des ducats"). Geldern is a town at the western border of what Germany is today.
And another proof for how badass those Landsknechts were:
It's not "Ins Feld marschieren geh'n" (="To march into the (battle)field"), but "Ins Feld spazieren geh'n" (="to take a walk/to stroll into the (battle)field").

Yeah, Landsknechts didn't march as such.

Yeah, Landsknechts didn't march as such.
The Landsknechts were formed after the Reislaufers, right?

That was a snide remark towards them singing "take a walk/stroll" instead of "march", sephodwyrm.
