Hi again. Playing as Armenia i got the message that Ecbatana has grown from minor to large city. In the construction panel however i don't have the option to build the next palace level. The population is above the required level and keeps growing?

Yeah sorry for bothering - checked the EDB and saw what is needed. Indeed some guide on the buildings would be nice - pontus for example has some military settlements, that can't be seen in the building viewer. Thanks for the help CV.
Yo, I noticed that Thessalian Cavalry, Agrianian infantry, and some other units have stats that
don't seem to match them.
Here's a list:
Thessalian Cavalry(Not enough armor, cost is weird)
Agrianian Infantry(Excellent morale? For 710 Denarii? With their stats? lol)
Liby-Phoenician Pikemen(a little more armor, like 6 armor total, and less def. skill)
Liby-Phoenician Heavy Pikemen(not enough armor, too much defense skill)
Liby-Phoenician Assault Infantry(didn't these guys have javelins?)
Iberian Assault Infantry(stats too weak, IMO, for a 1000 denarii unit)
Bosporan Archers(500 denarii? For archers of this caliber?)
Persian Heavy Cavalry(Needs a big buff to stay 4th tier barracks, methinks. Make them the eastern Xystophoroi, maybe?)
Also, I think that general's bodyguards for all factions need a buff in terms of
their charge bonus; +4 atk during a charge doesn't seem too realistic.
Besides those things, though, and assigning unit voices, I love this mod already; my Seleucid campaign has been epic so far.
Balancing will go through a massive overhaul pretty soon.
Take into account that the armour will match the unit visuals, so if a unit as a skin with light armour stats will reflect it.
The goal of this will be to create a system where you can evaluate a unit's ability just by looking at it and seeing on which level it was recruited.
Thanks for the reply, that makes sense.
Back on topic, I recently discovered that whenever I play a battle
that has Indo-Hellenic Hoplites in it, I get the
"There is insufficient video memory to load the requested texture set" CTD.
I know the error is baloney, because my video card is high-end; 1 GB of video
memory, in fact. However, I know that this error can be indicative of a bad
texture; I'm pretty sure it's the Indo-Hellenic Hoplite texture.
This has to do with the textures in the model_unit folder, and the path
specified in the DMB, right?
Thanks, Zarax. It's not the same when I can't play an epic Seleucid campaign battle, because
my enemies textures are bad.
I was going to report the indo-hellenic hoplite crash problem, but it looks like someone beat me to it.
I have noticed a couple of other things though. Like the new machimoi theurophoroi for egypt has combat bonus in woods I think. It should be combat bonus in desert like the rest of their units.
Also there is a settlement north of Parthia called campus Alanni that the Ai never captures. It has a small garrison, no walls ,and I have seen an Ai army near it but they never attack it. I'm just curious if there is an issue there.
If you are planning to make some changes for traits, I think you should check those Social Contacts/Social Network traits that reduce greatly movement points of Family Members. It is like a big punishment that affects quite a lot how to use the Governors and Generals in this game. For instance in the Ptolemaic campaign I had a Faction Heir as a Governor in Thebes and he needed two turns (with paved roads) to get in Pselchis or Memphis, and the other Governor in Pselchis had a same trait which meant he wouldn´t be particularly good General for the southern army of Egypt.

Yeah i've noticed too that most of the family members have great penalties for the movement.
There might be a problem with the garrison script as well. Fore example in the campaigns with Pontus and Parthia i took Antioch and Bactra without triggering the armies, although i recieved the message. Now as Armenia same happened when i took Seleucia - just message, but no garrison. When i attacked Nisa however the garrison appeared.
About the Indo-Hellenic Hoplite crash, how does that occur?
What I mean is, can you explain where problem is?
I want to learn more about unit graphics, and stuff,
so...
Also, if I find the time, maybe I can learn to skin/model
units. That would help, I'm betting. I'll go look at those
tutorials now.
EDIT: new bug, I noticed that the text for AoR Hoplites is the
Triarii text, and that in the EDU, their dictionary entry is roman_triarii...
Also, the UI card for them is called ROMAN_TRIARII in the UI\UNITS\MERC
folder. Why the name change?

The most likely cause of the crash with the Indo-Hellenic Hoplites is incorrect compression. Open the texture in GIMP (you'll need the DDS plugin) and don't open mipmaps. Save the file using DTX5 compression and generate the mipmaps, and hopefully things will work.
As for the Hoplites, the text should be the same for either Senate or not, but the reason was to try to make better use of a hardcoded feature.
Wait, that means I could fix it, because I have GIMP! Yay!
lol. As for the UI thing, it doesn't really matter, I think.
Hmm, it didn't work when I re-compressed it under DTX5.
Weird... by the way, thanks for the fix.
EDIT: Wait, what texture did you fix?
I think I did it for the wrong one. lol@me.
EDIT2: I figured out why the texture was bad...
It was too big. It was 256 Kb, which is HUGE for a
texture. The new one is like, 86 kb. Lol.
EDIT3: The new .DDS works, BTW.
