    Is it easy to fix blue Scythian generals manually ? I started scythian campaign recently and installing the newest version of XGM-XC would break my saved game.

    I have some experience modding RTW, I re-added archers for Scythia and Parthia recently(player only).

    Just go to your XC\Data folder and open Descr_Character.txt. Scroll down the Named Character section until you find the scythian general entry. Where it says:

    Code:
    strat_model        sm_barb_general
    change it to:

    Code:
    strat_model        sm_scythian_general
    That should do it.

    That would likely be the next line under the one SubRosa mentioned. Change that barb to scythian and your problem will be solved. You will also need to change the battle model of the lesser general (captain) to scythian_general. This will be fixed in the next version of course.

    Are you using the Carthaginian Senate? Provincial campaigns won't work if you are.

    Hi guys, i'm using the latest XC version with the senate on. Pontus cannot recruit regular phalangites in the hellenic regions. The entry is missing in the EDB file. militia and bronze shields seems fine, although i havent built baracks for the elite pikes, but they show up in the building screen.

    It is by design.
    Pontus never fielded regular pikemen like the true successors but only levies and the wealthier citizens from the greek settlements which formed the "elite" phalanx.

    While very hellenistic friendly Pontus is still an eastern faction and not a true diadochi, so while still giving you a chance to play in that style it favours a more fluid style of warfare.

    Ah ok, but since the regular phalanx is still in the pontic roster for custom battles, i decided it might be a bug.

    I thought I'd repost this since not many people are going to look at the first page before posting.


    Please try to answer as many questions as are relevant:

    Version of RTW/BI
    Exe you are using (RTW, BI, or Alex)
    Version of Extended Cultures
    Install options chosen (you can check xgm-xcversion from 3.2.5 and up for which options are installed)
    When problem occurs
    Turn Number
    Error message if any

    And anything else you think may be important.

    XC Version: Sorry, don't know how to find this, but it has the Julius Caesar provincial campaign but it doesn't work even w/o the senate mod

    Install options: Let's see, faster movement, no carthaginian senate, prometheus cities, all redfox extras except campaign map textures, ethnic traits mod provided on installation page...

    When problem occurs: After end turn button is hit, always on Baktria's turn (I'm playing as GCS)

    Turn Number: I hit end turn when it is Winter, 264 BCE

    Error message: None shows despite show_err


    Okay, so here is the bug I'm facing. I hit end turn, and the game CTDs with no error message on Baktria's turn. Turning fog of war off, it happens as one of their armies completes a movement, but I have not recognized any set pattern for which army it is that causes the CTD. Are there any ways to skip over Baktria's turn for one turn, to see if that solves it?

    EDIT: I tried using "disable_ai" before hitting end_turn, but this resulted in a CTD even sooner on the Ptolemaic Empire's turn. I also tried using "disable_ai" in the middle of another faction's turn, before Baktria, and this still resulted in a CTD at Baktria. I tried reloading an earlier, summer 265 BCE save, and the CTD occured at Baktria after hitting end turn in Winter 264 BCE (so same turn as before).


    EDIT2: I solved my own problem. I disabled the AI before I ended the turn on my 265 BCE save, then reenabled it after that turn and went about my business, and then ran a couple extra turns to make sure, and everything seems to be working fine. I'll leave the original post so that you may investigate the matter if you wish, but it was simple enough to get around through trial and error.

    Couple of bugs:
    1) As scythia or parthia I can recruit both 50 and 70 men cavalry units.

    2) Kardakes swordsmen have only 50 men.

    I am using XGM-XC version 3.2.6.
