Does anyone know how someone could go through the files for the game and change the time over one turn just like you could in Med 2 to make the campaign longer. It seems kind of hard with all the steam stuff now but does anyone know

Yes, I agree. I'd love to have 12 turns a year!!!
....200 turns is just too short!!!!!!
I would be happier with 4 turns a year. Has noone come up with this yet?
doesn't the game continue until you say you want to quit?
yea thats what i thought....

Analysis should not be diverted by reflections upon the zeal with which the victors at the end of the Second World War punished the defeated for war crimes. The victors were animated by the ideals of the Atlantic Charter and of the United Nations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was about to peep over the eastern horizon. But first, they wanted a little hanging.
because when you begin the grand campaign it says something along those lines, that made me think you could keep playing until you control the entire world
oh, and if possible; making those trade theaters, in PLAYING theaters would be nice too
No, the game ends in the years 1750 or 1799 depending on your settings.
what about a simple memory edit, like set date to earlier when you reach 1799 lol, havnt tried it yet but maybe it works
i'm waiting for this too.
in mtw2 i could play campaign for days.
empire is over in like 8-10 hours
we want MOAR turns!! who's with me?
Is it impossible to play past 1799?
Do you get booted out of the campaign when it reachs 1799? Like when you get to the end of the MTW or STW campaigns?

By increasing the number of turns per year it would more than likely effect many parts of the game. Such as all those historical events etc, would pop up in the wrong year etc. I agree that it would be nice to have more turns, but it will take alot more than simply changing 2 to 4 etc.
"But sire, wont we hit our own troops?"..."Yes but we'll hit theirs as well!"
"it's easy enough to say "wait for the patch" or "wait for modders," both of which have dramatically improved Creative Assembly's previous games. I can only presume that will be the case here, at which point I look forward to seeing how Empire: Total War turns out. But we review the games we're given, not the games we wish they'll become."

Yes, that can be done as a sort of workaround to the inability of modifying the file. Although by setting it before 1701 could corrupt your save file, which means 200 turns of painstaking research are gone.
Not that happened to me.
No, unlike MTW2, it's actually depended on the actual date in ETW, which I know since I am on 213th turn and is still getting "The Dublin Gazette(1706)" event pop-up, and will keep getting it until my neighbor remembers that he bought a game called "Empire Total War"![]()

Can you continue to save after the end point? In R:TW (not sure about M2) you could continue to play but you were no longer allowed to save after the end date.
What's the verdict here?
