Money removed through the script (which happens for the player's faction) are not 'recorded' properly on the financial chart, that's why there's that discrepancy. The chart should be accurate from turn 1 onwards.
Aww why is the player having a disadvantage?
I don't agree with giving up London. Send everyone there on turn one. You can hold it, I did albeit on M/M. If you hold it and get reinforcements the town to its east will be ripe for the taking. And then the Isle to the east will also be undermanned. After winning at London, I regrouped for a turn or two then was able to get some reinforcements and was proceeding to the east to the town which starts with a c, forgive my terrible memory, and met a newly arived Danish stack. Well I was able to defeat them then continue on and lay siege. Once again a half stack arrived and I barely defeated them and the towns garrison, they had a bodyguard unit that annihilated my fyrdmen otherwise it wouldn't have been close. After that I attack with two bodyguards and two horsemen in my sole stack.
Oh, for Heaven's sake, now you're being deliberately stupid.

Wudang why did you close the thread? Because you can't find a source refuting mine? LoL how's the quest to ban me going?
Holding London requires the Danes to not attack for a couple of turns - and even with East Anglia as a distraction, that is highly unlikely to say the least.
It's also simply not worth the risk, as London is one of the least important settlements in that part of the map, and there are plenty of bridges between it and your main settlement that offer better opportunities for wearing down the Danish stacks than a siege.
Not to mention that by giving up London, you'll have the cash you need for your early investments without resorting to church-burning in your other settlements, which puts you in a much better economical position, and also leaves you with a decent cash buffer in case anything goes wrong later on.
Trying to hold London simply is a high risk/low reward move...
London is my largest money maker which makes it very important to me. I was able to keep London, take Ramsgate and Canterbury. And push the Danes out of England until they invaded East Anglia. I just passed the 3 year plague and finally have an economy going. I haven't destroyed any buildings and I upgraded as far as possible. I've had taxes set to very high the whole time so I could keep a 1/2 stack up north. It wasn't easy, I used this 1/2-3/4 stack to defend probably 30-40 battles and had to reduce garrisons, after Northumbria betrayed my alliance.
On high difficulties I could imagine it being harder but London would still be the last town I would lose. Makes too much money which some of these other settlements I have just hemorrhage money up to -1000 a turn. London I think before the plague was at +1600 a turn.
Currently I have taken Cornwall, the town in central Wales, all of Mercia, South Engle, East Saxe, Canterbury, Ramsgate and all the rebel settlements between, and only now am I able to afford Priories and Christian chapels. Without London I'd be nowhere.

I started a Wessex campaign today. Concentrated nearly all of my men and attacked the Viking stack on the second turn (evenly matched I thought). Well my men fought bravely but my army was eventually ground down to mere remnants. My generals were in the thick of it but I managed to withdraw them when it started to go t*ts up. Not the best start of course, I considered starting over but decided I'm up for the challenge![]()
Thank you to all of the RTR Team.
I found it quite insane lol I gathered my whole forces to try and knock the danes back a bit as I saw the entire fleet of longboats move up the thames but alas I got thrown into the meat grinderbut it is by far an excellent mod, I tried playing as the welsh for a bit and I always come close to uniting the kingdom of wales but then damn mercia always has to stick it's nose into my business when my army is essentially destroyed from uniting wales and also bankrupt
