Default Focus on more units rather than only more men per unit

20 units per Army is no longer the cap, and large numbers of men per unit are difficult to deal with because of the size of landscapes, buildings, walls and cities. I'd like to see if others would also like to see the focus being on more units as a general rule for mods. Of course we have to take into account that it will take some time to make the control panel bigger as well as other make other changes. Though a moderate increase in individuals per unit is warranted, I thought I would get a dialog going due to this new capability.

People will... it's just unlockable factions has top priority, and increasing the unit size should be really simple. Surely modders will get to it in due time.

More men per unit is pretty much done with (except if there may be ways of fixing their management); it showed to be just achievable far sooner via a simple option in the preferences file (and that after hours of wading through hardly legible files ). For more units per battlefield we'll still have to wait for the gameplay-mechanics-relevant files to be editable.

Why did they have to remove Kingdom's AI reinforcement...20 maximum on each side is just lackluster.

most definitely, i really do i hope a patch comes out with the AI back in, was always loads more fun and offered loads more strategy implications....
personally more units would assuredly be better and leaving the more men per units for historical and custom battles would be a nice option to have for dukeing it out on local lans

Where did you see that the number of units per stack is no longer capped at 20?

The demo historical battle is a completely different situation than the campaign. In the demo naturally you can throw in as many units as you want, but making a stack hold more than it can hold is something entirely new, it'd be great if it were so, but where'd you read this?

Well I'm just saying that it's not hardcoded... If it were, it wouldn't have been possible to do in the demo.

    We don't know that yet.

The demo is a historical battle, so you can code in as many units as you want. But having more than twenty in a stack in the campaign is a completely different matter, they're not related.

I still think that the basic unit in infantry would be a batallion with 500-600 men, that is how it was in reality.

But both mods are needed to represent the battles of the time period, the vanilla kills all immersion out of anyone that knows anything about history and the real battles of 18th century.
