Soldiers are black

After playing forever without any graphics problem, I started getting this in every battle:

All soldiers are black. As the battle progresses, a few of them acquire their normal texture (like the knights in the rear) but not all. Faraway, you can see that sprites show OK. What could be the problem? I have not changed settings, software, hardware or anything, and have not made changes affecting textures.

If you haven't made any changes, then perhaps try a battle in vanilla to see if it's an SS problem or something wrong with the whole game

The problem went away after rebooting the computer. Must have been a corrupted driver or something. I have been experimenting other glitches lately, like trees flashing on and off, and strange bars that appear in cities (no not that kind of bar

, I mean like lines and triangular planes that become visible between a house and a tower, for instance).

caralampio - possible your driver files have become corrupted / graphics card over-heating ?

might be worth trying other driver versions?

Yes it's something other than SS causing that. I spent most of last friday upgrading and running antivirus & antispyware becuse my Internet was so slow, but turning my modem off and back on ended up being the solution.

With that said, I really prefer the invisible army of the latest Dues Lo Vult!

Wouldn't know about the drivers, they are recent but probably not latest. I prefer not to upgrade drivers unless I really need to.

Overheating was the first thing I thought, but I play with my computer's case open, it was a cold day and the card temp was 64°... Hopefully it won't happen again.

It's usually better to play with closed case, as it enables better air circulation, heat drain etc..

i have just installed ss again after a few turns i end up fighting the scotts and both their general bodyguard unit and their spearman milita looked like metal silver men. rest of their units look Normal

like the t-1000 in terminator 2

i tried different drivers catalyst 9.1 9.3 9.2 and it doesnt change. but when i play custom battle with those units they looked normal

i have hd4870 ati and i never had problems with graphic intense games like crysis etc, card is not oc and temp is normal.

please help

Try reinstalling SS again (all 3 parts) over the top of your current installation. Sometimes the installer can miss some files (and the silver-surfer look is caused by missing files).
