remove Empire total war from your favorites on steam, and keep it in your installed list, this worked for me? have no clue why. can join almost twice the amount of games i could then with the game listed only on my favorites.

Hey there folks,

make sure your ports are open, from the Steam support site, https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...1456-EUDN-2493 :

Ports UDP 27000-27020, 1200
TCP 27020-27050

must be open. If you've just a router that should do it. If you have a firewall also, make sure it has exceptions for Steam and Empire.

Aside from this, all I have to help is for you to restart Steam; I got this same problem last night for no palpable reason (though it worked before) and that fixed it.

This is no doubt the most irritating , annoying good game of this year and its by no means JUST this issue, but anyway, everygame , cant connect to host, password protected , cant connect to host , password protected , cant connect to host , password protected and so on for about 50 servers. Creative Assembly as i have learned from medieval 2 dont care about gamers problems, patching them is just a formality which does very little if anything to the core game. They will not fix this issue because they are to buzy working on a empire expansion so they can make more money.

Pactch has stoppeed some random crashes i will give it that much, but multiplayer is still broken in my opinioin. 'no response from host' continues to huant me.

I have had this CTD error now for four games, this window pops up:

"There was a desynch in existing game"

Does anyone know what this problem is?? as i cannot play Multiplayer for more than 5 minutes without this problem happening?

All ports are open and firewall has exceptions ticked!

Had Empire now since release, and thought over time this "No response from host" bug would bugger off lol.

But its not My friend also baught the game today.. he has the exact same, even when one of hosts a game and the other trys to join! The quick matches also give this.

Now steam lets me play other games such as CS:S..so its nothing to do with ports, and it also lets him. Its the game? My connection is fine (50mb Virgin...). Any other game, i can play, but this, no.

Any help would be nice.

The worst of all, it keeps happening with the best servers: 4v4 naval enz.., while the servers i don't like always seem to work :S

Like ive posted before, Remove Empire total war from your favorites on steam, this has worked for me, i can join almost every game..... before i couldnt join 1. Also, change the server where you are located, i noticed i cant join any games near me, but in the uk, i can join almost every game, which is weird cause its on the other side of the world.

etw is not in my steam favourites, although i added it them removed it, still no change. How might i change the sever location? I have never had to do that before.

Just to add, I managed to set up a LAN game using an ftp sever yesterday and it worked, to an extent (slow), if you just want to play with your steam buddies.

yea, it all buggered up now that the "new patch" came out, cant join 1 game now...

I've had a similar problem to what everyone's saying. Except i think mine is a step worse, i am desperate to sink my teeth into multiplayer. But i usually only have 3 games in the battle list, that are ALL unplayable (red dot on left hand side). I go to quick battle and it can't find anyone! does anyone know what i can do to help this increasingly frustrating problem?
