Steam+SS6.0 = Crash on loading screen

Hey this is actually my first post here...I have came in and out getting information and impressions...Seems like a cool place.

On topic. I recently downloaded part 1 part 2 and the patch. I carefully checked the default "Save to" to make sure it was in the right spot. Which is correct. ("HP_PAVILION (C

/Program Files/Sega/Medieval II Total War/Mods)

When I run the Kingdoms launcher...It indeed says Stainless Steel. I then click on it then I end up on the loading screen...And all of a sudden it exits the loading screen and shows my desktop with no notifications or anything. Is there a reason for this? If anyone could help me with this I would be grateful.

BTW I searched through the total war forums to see if anyone has had the same problem as me...But it was a no go. I clearly feel stupid.

There have been a number of threads in this forum specifically about getting SS to run with Steam. If you do a search on this forum, you should find something.

Can you please be kind and guide us to those threads you mention? I've been searching and looking for Steam installation procedures the past 2 hours without success.

there are 3 things that i can point..

first one would be

Install Part1, Part2 and the 6.1 Patchinto the default Medievall II Total War directory.
Normally this is: .../SEGA/Medieval II Total War.
If you have installed Medieval II into another folder, please select the folder manually.

NOTE: Stainless Steel 6.0 will not overwrite older Stainless Steel versions, so you have to delete them manually.

not in mods.. as that way it probably creates loops of folders.. which it shouldnt

second if its steam version

steam games comes in for you would be x:\program files\steam\steamapps\common

third ss mod have its own launcher.. use that

last but not the least.. get 6.1 and 6.2 patches..
