I don't have Empire yet, but the victor always healed some casualties in the previous TW games post-battle, especially to ranged "kills". Is this what you're talking about? Did you still have your 3 units of rifles left?

Just had a really strange bug,i was fighting as The Netherlands(800 men) vs 900 pirates (on land),i managed to route all their units,i won and choose to kill any pirate i would find, than when i went back to the campaign map it said i lost and from the 8 units i had left i now only had 3!
Wasted half a hour on making the units, the ships to transport them (had to be big so i could manage the load of pirate ships around) and when i finally got there the game screws you over like this.
"The Republic of the Seven United Netherlands, rulers of the sea's."
Sigh.... Yet another cdt........ this time i have managed with carefull saving of the game to get from1731 to 1744... then i attack a french fort and ctd..... i am too tired.. not angry, any more... this has all just spoilt my experience the total war.

I keep getting a Crash to Desktop when I click on an army (at random times) or when I move armies on the Campaign map little by little.
Not sure if its been reported yet: I'm on turn 34 playing as the British. When I end the turn everything is fine until its the Inuit nations turn. It goes white screen and there's an 'empire has encounter a problem and needs to close' box. I've tried reloading back to a previous save and playing it differently but it does the same crash.

Wow... what an avalanche of CTD bug during campaign... and during the AI's turn, mind you! Usually I understand Sega/CA's commercial needs and timeline + I don't like free bashing but honestly, this time, for a commercial release of a game you buy in stores, this is unacceptable and not far from being a fraud, considering we, the customers, pay for an unfinished and unstable product. Theorically we, or the retailers, could legally sue CA and Sega for major product defect that prevents its use. Of course we won't, but still, shame on them! Sega corporates, not CA techs who, I guess, had to "finish" in a rush and are just as pissed off as we all are.
I've tried those factions:
Ottoman Empire: crash in 1704 = not simple CTD, blank screen, "steam" down (had to manually reboot my computer! Reminded me of the 90's)
France: crash (same) in 1703. I didn't have the opportunity of seeing the Huron/Iroquois bug!
Prussia: 1711, no problem until now...
Maratha: 1707, no problem until now...
That's 1 on 2 and I fear for the others as this is early in the campaign. I noted that the crash happens when a minor faction declares war on mine (Morocco for Ottomans, Würtenberg for France). Maybe this could help, if CA tech guys are lurking here...
Waiting for the 1st real patch to fix that campaign crash. Next time CA, pay some testers
It's supposed to be automatic with "Steam" but that's my fear. Can we trust "steam"?
EDIT TO ALL: this crash is not linked to a specific faction so no need to say "I've played with {faction X} for Y turns and then game crash blank screen etc, etc, as I,ve read about Britain, Russia, etc. It's all of them!
Clicking Drydock in Cuba causes a CTD. Playing as Great Britain around year 1945.
P.S. Let's hope CA can fix this stuff as soon as possible. It is really detracting from the gaming experience.

Clicking my army in the Americas during 1740, automatically crashes to dekstop, no matter how many times I reload the game.
after plugging the bayonets to a certain unit i cannot go back to firing and it is stuck in 'melle mode' i repeatedly click the highlighted melee button but nothing happens. does anyone know whats wrong?
to catch a fish,so juicy sweeeeeet
1000 Campaign crashes. Naval battles freezes. Lots of bigger or minor gameplay bugs. Graphical problems. Long loading times even on high end pcs. Did i said that game can crash absolutely everywhere ? Oh well, so far didnt crashed or froze in LAND battle. Here is so manny things to fix and they are all verry important. Game is great, but with so manny issues its not funn to play....

hey im playing the campaign on vh/vh and with the way the reinforcements are in this game i find it impossible to wn battles unless i am defending a fort. when you have a full stack of enemy troops against your full stack, reinforcements dont really mean much as they come on 1 at a time and get slaughtered 1 at a time so the main battle at the start defines who wins and even when i am fighting native americans with my very technology advanded riflemen i am still getting routed and i am almost at 1750 in my campaign as the british and i have captured a grand total of 2 territories outside my starting amount, both of these where native american settliments that i sent a full stack into their land and built a fort and defended it from there attack.
(2)bugs i have noticed are that when the enemy attacks my forts with cannons in their army, they deploy the cannons too far back and thus are completly out of range of my walls thus they are useless.
after i slaughter enemy infantry attacking my forts, the enemy horsemen just stand below my walls watching me as i blast them into pieces, they dont attack and they dont retreat resulting in an entire stack army getting completly wiped out with hardly any loss to mine
Plugged bayonets isn't possible to revert as it's in the pipe, upgrade to round bayonets to be able to switch between them.
thats supposed to happen...apparently the plug bayonet gets jammed in the rifle
Because when you (IRL) fix a plug bayonet into a musket, you ram it into the barrel quite hard so it doesn't accidentally come out. Downside to this is it's really, really difficult to remove. This is mirrored ingame.

The plug is placed in the firing slot, as a result it can't be taken out until after the battle and your men can't fire

yep ..thats how it works..go straight to the next tech.. (or just steal it)

once plugged you'd spend the next 30 mins removing them, thats why they do not bother. As you can appreciate they are a tight fit or would come off upon use.
some bugs i have found in the game in my limited time playing.
(1) enemy forces attacking my forts with cannons always deploy the cannosn too far back and thus they are out of range and useless.
(2) after all the enemy infantry die attacking my forts, the enemy horsemen walk up to thw walls and stand there until they are dead unable to attack me
