    Default Vanilla Install Question

Due to Windows Vista being rubbish, I had to restore my pc to its factory settings. Vista corrupted my internet controls etc.

Anyway, I installed Rome Total War using the three discs.

Put Disc 1 in , then disc 2, then disc 3. The installer asks you to put the discs in etc.
The game was installed, and I have been using this copy as the basis for all my mods.

Thing is, I seem to remember the vanilla install being disc1, then disc 2, then disc 3, and finally having to put disc 1 back in again.

Fortunately, I have an install along these lines on a portable hard drive, but I would like to ask if anyone can confirm what their vanilla install is like.

Also, how can I tell if the 1.6 patch is installed or not?
Before you start to install the various mods.

    Thanks for any help.

Do you have the gold version or the regular one?

Well, to figure out the version number, on the main menu of RTW select options and on the upper right hand corner you should see a little V 1.5/1.3/1.6 etc etc.

Passing on to describe the way in which Napoleon employed ‘principles’ or ‘ingredients’ for the prosecution of War, it must from the outset be understood that his strategical and tactical systems followed no closely ruled pattern. Every operation was unique; no two were ever quite the same. However, the underlying every Campaign and battle were certain fundamental, which were applied according to circumstances.
