How to join the Crusade?

Maybe it is stupid question…but my king asked for Crusade, Pope agreed, in next turn almost all Catholics joined…but how I can join? My king, has like 6-7 piety, if this is important

click on your general outside the city, ( needs to have 5-6 units at least as i recall )

anyway, after you select there is button to join crusade in the botton of army screen or general unit screen.. dont recall which ones.. its in same place, where you click to inspect generals bodyguards..

i thought it needed General + 8 units minimum

any general will do even with 0 stats (sucide generals i call them

)

why join if you dont intend to gain from crusade :o ?

Well, some people even in real life do things because of fun, not because of gain

If the pope asks you to join a crusade, it's best to join it even if you have no intention of taking the target.

i play for fun!
i always join crusades jihad fun battles ! even if i dont want the target
send worthless units (with you normally disband) with Mad general on Jihad

i took his title, he envies the heir, unleashed Ambition and he is utterly insane so i send him on a jihad against Palermo he made it there and then his army got slaughterd but he had high +hit points and he ran

and yeah join crusade pleases pope aswell i also think it raises relationship with fellow religion faction but dunno for sure
