On a serous note however I believe the USA will most likely break up as result of "credit crunch" or recession or what ever its being called now.

Many of those 10th Amendment Bills have already passed in numerous states and not just Texas so in fact yes US of A may split up

Let us glaze into our crystal ball and see.....the answer anytime soon? No. Fairly distant jump into the future, who knows. Right now its immune to invasion what may happen 100 years from now or whatever who cares .

The USA will definitely be one of the world's superpowers for the next 100 years, maybe for even more than that. So, it will most certainly be immune to any foreign invasions during that time. Of course, you can never know what will happen in a period of say, 200 years. The USA may rise in power, but they may also decline. Either way, any attempt to predict the world's future at this point will most probably prove to be fruitless.

I have personally practiced invading America on numerous occasions simply by following the instructions of American military expert Jim Dunnigan contained within his secret project Invasion America.

Now some may say that Jim was just joking, but as far as I can tell he doesn't actually have a sense of humour, so that explanation doesn't wash with me.

The game incorporated several interesting assumptions about the circumstances of the invasion which might still be relevant today.

• No one uses Nukes, I don't recall weather it was due to deterrence or a successful Nuke defence system.
• It was going to take the whole of the rest of the world to invade America successfully. The rest of the world was divided into a Latin American Union (something out of Hugo Chavez's wet dreams), Communist Euro-Russia, and a Chinese Empire of South-East Asia.
• Canada and Central America have been annexed by the USA (although the Canadian army still exists as a weak US ally).
• The US Navy has been sunk in the precursor naval battles.

Each of the four factions had a different flavour due to their unit mix.

• The main US strength was in long range bombers, a significant part of the infantry strength would be made up of NRA militias!
• The Russians had really good tanks, but couldn't build any more during the course of the campaign.
• The South Americans have crap tanks and crap infantry, but they can scoot around really fast!
• The Chinese have immensely strong human-wave infantry who all die if they lose a battle.

The game really was a lot of fun to play. The Chinese only had access to the West Coast, and it was generally possible to wipe out their landings before they could be reinforced.

The Russians generally couldn't be destroyed because of their strong tank corps, but they could be contained until attrition wore them down.

The South Americans were the most fun, they could conquer vast tracts of Mexico and the southern US with their weak fast units. Even if they got beaten, there were plenty of replacements to mount another invasion elsewhere.

The US had to spend the game rushing fire-fighting forces around from theatre to theatre, trying to squash each landing quickly so they could move to the next threatened point.

Invaded probably in the future. However the U.S along with Russia, China and Canada are one of a select few countries whose area is so large that keeping enough garrisons to actually control the land would cripple the invading countries economy
