    Default Adding Officers

I hope this is the right forum, so how can officers (specifically the Scipii Centurion) be added to a unit in BI (British Legionaries: Romano-British)?

Add the officer model file(s) in BI's models_unit, the texture in models_unit/textures and copy the descr_model_battle entry in the BI DMB. And then you can sue the officer model entry in a unit's entry in EDU.

For the descr_model_battle file, do I modify the existing entry for the East/ Western Empires or
or do I add a new entry from the RTW Scipii one? BTW I want to add the vanilla Scipii centurion, the one with steel on only.

You can modify the existing one if you want, but if you're not worried about model space, just add a new entry.

    Code:
    type roman_centurion_rtw
    skeleton fs_dagger
    indiv_range 40
    texture empire_east, bi/data/models_unit/textures/officer_roman_centurion_scipii.tga
    texture empire_west, bi/data/models_unit/textures/officer_roman_centurion_scipii.tga
    texture empire_east_rebels, bi/data/models_unit/textures/officer_roman_centurion_scipii.tga
    texture empire_west_rebels, bi/data/models_unit/textures/officer_roman_centurion_scipii.tga
    model_flexi_m bi/data/models_unit/officer_roman_centurion_high.cas, 15
    model_flexi_m bi/data/models_unit/officer_roman_centurion_med.cas, 30
    model_flexi_m bi/data/models_unit/officer_roman_centurion_low.cas, 40
    model_flexi bi/data/models_unit/officer_roman_centurion_lowest.cas, max
    model_sprite empire_east, 60.0, bi/data/sprites/romans_senate_roman_praetorian_cohort_ii_sprite.spr
    model_sprite empire_west, 60.0, bi/data/sprites/romans_senate_roman_praetorian_cohort_ii_sprite.spr
    model_sprite empire_east_rebels, 60.0, bi/data/sprites/romans_senate_roman_praetorian_cohort_ii_sprite.spr
    model_sprite empire_west_rebels, 60.0, bi/data/sprites/romans_senate_roman_praetorian_cohort_ii_sprite.spr
    model_tri 400, 0.5f, 0.5f, 0.5
Note that this assumes you have brought all the encessary files (.cas, .tga.dds, .spr) inside the BI data, which is the best way to go, if you plan on editing those files later.

So, as a summary, I would have to:
    1. Add the officer model files in BI's models_unit folder
    2. The texture files in models_unit/textures folder
    3. Copy the above DMB entry provided
    4. Add it to a unit

    Is that all?

Also, move the sprites to the BI sprites folder. And finally you would have to add an "officer roman_centurion_rtw" line in a unit's EDU entry of course, so that the unit uses that officer.

Thanks for helping me! Unfortunately, I can't find the texture files.

They are packed away in the models_unit_textures.pak file inside data/packs (so are sprites, another .pak). You need to get Vercingetorix's Pak Extractor, extract the files and use them then. You can find the tool in the Downloads section.
