    Default movement tool?

Is there anything which will help to work out how far various units can move in a turn and over a number of turns? For example, a few times I've attempted to go on crusade only to realise after about 5 turns of travel that I'm still miles away and will not get to the crusade place in time. Would have been better off just ignoring the request and getting on with something useful instead! Cheers!

Yes. You can adjust movement values. Check with the modders in the Mod section.

yes, but if your not a modder kind of guy, like me, make use of fleets! that or just capture everything and issue roads EVERYWHERE

btw crusading fleets can move a ridiculous amount

I use fleets to get to places a fair way away, like Spain to Italy. Also dont use fleets all the way to the Holy lands, get to Europe walk to southern Italy then ship there.

Why cant you just click on the unit/army, drag the mouse to the destination you like, and count the number of different colors in the trail? (before releasing of course)

Indeed. You can move from Toulouse port to Cairo in like 3 turns. Make a big fleet though. You don't want your stack dying on the sea by some pirates/enemy ships. That'll be silly.

If you want to know the moves of units on the actual turn, you could click on them and see. But you probably know this already and I've got no clue what this topic is about.

Hey, in this case, SIZE of the fleets matter in this situation haha

The click and drag is always useful to count colors but will not help in determining whether to go on Crusade or not. Best advice for that is to simply go if you want to and not worry after Crusade status on anything but getting there. The number of turns is not really a critical consideration since the typical AI faction Crusade army is not successful.

if nothing else, then you can at least try to make use of fleets so you can get there quicker. they go extremely far, though in the real world, you could probably cross from spain to jerusalem in 2-4 weeks maximum in those kinds of ships. anyway, i think modding is the best way to go. the only thing ten is balance. if you can go from london to sicily in 1 turn, then you will be everywhere. i think it would make more sense if you reduced turns from 2 years to 6 months.
