Hi everyone.
I've just downloaded Chivalry week ago and play my first campaign as Magnus Ducatus Polonae (hard/hard). I must say that this mod is excellent. I played before EB which I found the best but I can see that Chiv is similar quality (it needs few finishing touches tho). It is really good and quite refreshing.
q1:
In this period Polish army was mainly cavalry based (author of Chronica Polonorum mentions it few times). Poles have (apart bodyguards) early merc knights, slav riders and skythians early in the game. Why there is almost no polish specific cavalry units (low tier especially)?
Chronica Polonorum mentions polish unit called "Pancerni" which translates to Mailed [Knights] (loricati in latin) and "Tarczownicy"/shield bearers/clipeati. First unit was chain mailed riders and other was light cavalry. Such forces without infantry forces were often raiding Bohemia or Pomerania.
I've heard that Poles were using mounted crossbowman (pretty much med2 "strzelcy"). In later period XIV\XV c. each knight supposed to have two of them as squires. Such a three was basic tactical unit called "kopia" (lance).
I have no skill in skinning but those could be nice addition to polish rooster.
q2:
Why Poles can't build feudal horse breeder? Because of that I can't build last two levels of feudum buildings. I changed edu for that but I was just wondering if that was on purpose?
