So I captured enough provinces and stuff and I get the victory video and screen, but then the only option is back to the main menu.
Can I not continue and conquer the rest of the map?

Hmm, there should be an option to continue. Might be a glitch though.

Yeah, like Seli said, there should be a selection. The selection should be on the victory scroll, if I remember correctly.

I don't think there is in Rome.
however, if I recall correctly, if you hit CTRL-S to quick save while that scroll is open, and then hit CTRL-L to quick load, you can continue for as long as you want.

There is the option of continuing the game after you have conquered 50 provinces and Rome in the long campaign, or 15 provinces and destroyed the designated factions.
There should always be that option.

If you're patched up, anyway - I thought that it wasn't an option pre-1.3 or something, and you had to do the save/load thing to conquer the map ....
I beat back their first attack with ease. Properly employed, E's can be very deadly, deadlier even than P's and Z's, though they're not as lethal as Paula Abdul or Right Said Fred.

Then it might be the patch, check if you have 1.5 and if not, update it to 1.5. If you have 1.0, first patch to 1.3 and then to 1.5, if you have 1.3 you can patch to 1.5 straight away.

On the older patches you had to finish when you won. I have 1.5 and I can go on until I have the whole map... then I must quit

either u have an old patch or a glitch problem.

Yeah I just didnt patch it up.
The quick-save quick-load also worked though.
