Icon6 Complaining again :P (Campaign Map Pathfinding Issue)

It me again, and me is again annoyed
Just want to mention one thingie everybody is used to, even I. But it keeps irritating me all the way through the game. The matter concerns the feature which i cannot explain to myself.
Why do I have to stick to a neutral (or even enemy) army if I pass by it thus losing my turn? I'm not asking to be able to stand in the same tile with a neutral or allied army, as is the case in Civilization 4 for example. I just want to step into ADJACENT tile and keep moving my way. Instead I get an unexplainable punishment of getting glued to a stranger's army till the turn resolves. This way passing a bridge with a stranger standing nearby can be a real torture of several wasted turnes. Or a mountain passage. Or a city in a narrow place. Or... you can imagine other combinations.
Especially funny the situation looks in the open water, when I need to get glued to a neutral boat in the middle of the sea.
    WHY ?

Sorry for being too much of a moaner. Just want to find an explanation I may have missed.

You need to avoid the red 8 squares around the enemy army/ship, because that is the enemy-controlled region. When 2 armies that are not allied meet, it would be wierd to let each other pass through without knowing the intentions.

If you really hate it then you can use this console command:

    character_reset "Name of general/captain/admiral/agent"
