None of the Julii, captured or core. ( haven't tested others yet)

The city screen nicely shows slaves being part of the city-growth %, but the next turn growth has been as if there were no slaves.

Cities have roads and governor present.

That's strange. I played Julii lately and the slaves got added to the population correctly. Anyone else experiencing this?

    Strange...

I always thought that "WhenToTest NewAdmiralCreated" was enough.

But now I know the logic, since it seems that all characters (admirals, spies, generals, etc...) are tested when admiral is created.

Sort of as a "aside" - guys from totalwar.org.pl had a chance to play for a few hours with the full version of BI (being currently translated) and it seems that most known bugs from RTW 1.0-2 are still there...

Aha the irony! Just a new package with the same mistakes. Marketing rules man.

    Bugs fixed in 1.3:

-VH is realy VH (I'm pretty sure about this, but please confirm).
-Horse archers now shoot while running.
-AI armies are more willing to charge, especially when under fire.

Depends several times I've seen AI standing there until I lost all the arrows or charging with one unit (while having overall advantage in numbers!)

I believe there is a Diplomacy bug with the roman factions. I was playing as the Julii and the Brutii made an alliance with the Gauls. When I attacked the Gauls the message "Alliance in tatters" appears indicating that the Brutii were no longer allies with me. Now surely they should have remained my allies and broken the alliance with the Gauls. I have also seen the Scipii delare war on the Julii in another game.

I can also confirm that the CharaterMarries condition does not trigger in the V&V's.

Thanx, it has been reported by several people now, adding to the list.

I also noticed that the Senate faction starts the game with two greek family members.

I think adding two extra family memebers to senate faction in descr_start.txt file should fix that.

I have already modded the game by adding two new senate family members, however it is a bug none the less.

    Thanks anyway.

The reason the senate needs these charaters it to initially fill the senate positions.

    Exactly,
And something is corrupted in original code, so those two new memebers that apear are greeks instead of romans.

Ok, in 1.3 senate has the same number of characters as in 1.2, those two members should probably be chosen from other roman factions. This maybe connected to the new way Seante is coded and thus to the diplomacy between roman factions issue.

Actually, in 1.2 senate also had 3 faction memebers, and then game code gerated 2 new ones to fill senate seats.

But, now it seems that code generates 2 new ones from macedon faction, or whatever the faction is below senate in descr_sm_factions.txt file.

But some other faction on 5th place in file and senators will be from that faction.
In fact, if you put slave as 5th, you'll get roman flavoured generals, but with rebellious names such as Spartacus, Moses etc...

Have you tried making Senate the last faction?

In that case macedon faction controlls 4 seats, 1 some other roman faction (I guess since macedon has up to 4 characters) and one senate with egyptian character.

In this case 4th faction was macedon, 5th egypt and senate last in the list.
You can see some hardcoded pattern here.
