Who to support?
So Im starting a vh/vh campaign as Scotland and I allied with England an France while I consolidated my hold over rebel territorie (Bruges, Cearnarvon, Dublin, York, Inverness). Now england moved its huge field army off of the isles and attacked France. Who should I support because Im very interested in my reputation for this game. Normally I dont care but Im gonna see if I can maintain a good one. So who would I get the rep bonus from. I figure I should attack england in the isles while they are weak but I'm not sure of the repurcussions on my rep.

Doesnt matter who you attack, attacking someone that you're not at war with will lower your rep anyway. All I can say is, stop pretending that it's hard and attack them both, and make sure that you occupy all settlements and either release or ransom all prisoners for your rep.

Side with whoever has the most alliances with other factions. If you go to war with any faction, you take relations hits with their allies - and that impacts on your reputation.

I figure Ill support the defenders. More historically accurate, the (was it Auld) alliance and all that was between the scots and french against a common enemy.

Re: Who to support?
How to choose:
1. You lose rep by breaking alliances. In the case of a war between allies, break fewer alliances.
2. Choose whoever has more allies
3. You get a bigger rep hit if you side with the attacker.
My advice:
1. Break your alliance with England, and station lots of armies near your borders.
2. Don't attack England, because you'll get a rep hit.
3. Wait until England gets excommunicated
4. Call a crusade on England
5. Don't wipe them out, because you lose rep for that. Instead, either cripple them by wiping out all of their field armies and navies, or vassalize them.
