    Default Ugh! The Patience Required!

I realy love this game but I'm on move 128 in my Grand Campaign and it's taking 10 minutes between moves. I bet when I get to move 200 it will take a full 20 minutes. Is there a way to speed this up? I'm referring to the other factions moves after mine. I can walk the dog between moves get snacks but sometimes I can only get in 5 moves a day.

Lower graphics (especially shadows). I'm presuming you've already taken off watching the AI movements between turns?

No I watch the AI movements seems I should just to know the other factions moves. I would hate to do no watching the AI I just want to speed this up.

Your not missing much if you turn it off. Like the above poster said make sure campaign map shadows is turned off.

Well if you choose to watch it, that really is your own fault for making the turns go really slow Plus, if you said you go and walk your dog during this time, you're not really utilizing the knowledge of AI movements.

If you STILL want to see your neighbouring faction moves, turn off FOW. This will allow you to see any movements close to your borders, but not any of the other factions that are on the other side of the map whose moves are of no importance or threat to you.

Dont bother watching what Egypt is doing a thousand miles away, it just doesnt have an effect on you as England. Better to just see the AI actions near your border like the other poster said.

I feel your pain - it's all those bloody diplomats and agents wandering around. It's awful when you have a good network of spies in enemy lands, and a far flung empire. Not to mention the Mongol hordes, which take an eternity to move around.

I wish there was a way to only track the movements of enemy armies/fleets.

Didn't you all try to switch off the "show enemy turns" option? Don't worry, you won't skip anything interesting if you do, it still shows an enemy army if it sieges you or a diplomat wants to negotiate.

Thanks folks , I think I'll try some of your suggestions. I usually do watch though, walkling the dog was more of a joke. Yes it is the diplomats and spy network that gets annoying, just seeing around my towns would be good.

Press the left mouse button frequently during the AI movement and their motion will be faster. It works for me.

Either lower graphics, or simply turn off AI moves. They are just a waste of time. If it still is terribly slow after that, start a new campaign.

And remember, if you have conquered a lot, you see a lot. Following AI option allows the camera to follow the movement you see. Which means camera follows a lot, for each faction you always see on campaign map. If you want to keep follow AI on, you should consider having peace with everyone, and turtle on capital, drawing all troops, fleets and agents to it, and willingly sacrifice every other settlement than you capital. Disband your excess armies and fleets, and get your agents removed from game, so that you only see your capital, and have everything else covered in fow.

...Or just start a new campaign, with a faction that makes a good turtler, like Russia, and start turtling. Permanently.

As this is a bad idea in general, turn follow AI off. I turned it off after SEEING enemy spies and assassins getting into my towns, castles, armies and agents, and SUCCEEDING! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
