Mongols in Jihad

Can somebody confirm what is religion of Mongols in SS 6.1, I was bit surprised when they came to raid Gaza as a part of Jihad which would stipulate that they start as Muslim faction.

I thought they were pagan..maybe I am thinking CAE though...

they are muslim. they even have imams and masjids,jamas etc

In game they are unfortunately muslim but in reality they didnt have any religion at all.

Um... do non-monotheist beliefs now count as not being a religion? I'm pretty sure that Shamanism, Paganism, Buddhism etc were accepted as religions.

What I think he is saying is that there was no one dominant religion. There were even Arian christians. The most apt religion for the mongols is probably heretic.

The Mongols were mostly Pagan but the in the game they simply chose Islam because that religion had already been created and creating another one for one faction would have been pointless.

And yes, Mongols Jihad......Its a nightmare.

I am surprised that they did not leave them as pagan tribes, its really weird seeing them as part of Jihad...

Yeah. Well it helps balance the game out, to make them a real horde. Give them that boost to movement that later leaves the game. One time the Mongols eliminated the Turks. And one time the Turks eliminated the mongols. The first time they were on Jihad so get what Im saying?

There is a submod that changes the Mongols to Pagan...pretty sure the latest 6.2 includes this.

pretty lame that can happen if you ask me, if they arent really muslim and didnt have jihads.

If you ask me it was a good resource to use at least....Since the mongol invasion in its own mind was like Blitzkrieg or a Jihad. They never stopped till their leader died. I guess with the Jihad it forces them to stop that rampage once they settle in. You wudnt want them rampaging for ever or always being defeated would you?

But yeah, they could have taken more time to through in their own religion, but that would be more of my precious memory taken up.
