Ok, stupid thread topic, but lets face it we all have to do it at some point. I keep starting campaigns and giving up part way through, usually out of boredem or because I selected a difficulty I didnt like. I seem to be happiest at Medium/Hard. These are the factions Ive burnt through so far (SS 6.1):
Im still somewhat playing norvgood and venice, but loosing intrest.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Venice
Turkey
Templars
Scotland
Norvgood
England
Egypt
Ive also played Milan, Spain and the Moors but didnt find any photos.
Im just looking for something to maintain my intrest for a long time. Any suggestions for one of those factions I should revisit or a faction I havnt played that I should try?
if you are winning too easily, bump the difficulty up.
i dont feel like i am that great of a player or anything, and vh/vh isnt too big of a challenge. awhile back i thought it would be way too hard w/o trying it, but once you get used to it it really isnt bad. much better than walking through everyone, and getting bored, IMO.
find some kind of unit type or style of army that you like, and stick with it.
it really depends what you like.
Try playing the short campaigns. Take your time, do not blitz, and have fun. After 50 - 75 turns you will have victory and you are done.

Without making a new topic, Viking, could I ask you something?
Lets say I was Sicily. I owned a good part of the Holy Lands, all of Italy, A good amount of northern Africa, A good portion of France, Part of England, All of Germany, and so on. I was at war with everyone. What should I do to avoid getting to points like this?
There's no way to avoid being regarded as a crazy invader when you own half of the world my friend. Also, try expanding on fewer fronts if you can't deal with that many enemies. It makes sense for nobody to want to sign cease fire with you because that's exactly what you would want.

Trick question?:hmmm:
You have already conquored enough for your 45 regions. You should have achieved victory. If you have failed to win after turning most of the known world to a cinder, as a game designer (if I were one) the game would be programed to render your empire into a medeival version of Carthage.

but ehm... If your bored, I suggest you download a fantasy mod like Thera.
The main "boring-reason" Is the annoyance of having to conquer the same old Europe all over again... And again... And again... and Again... And zzzz....zzzzzzzzz....
E:TW's natives have developed a new "Ballistic Automatic Detection And Seeking System" to utterly annihilate any European that sets foot on their soil... That's BADASS for short!
the only thing that keeps me really attached to a campaign is hotseating, playing multiple factions in one campaign, taking over factions which are about to die or have a hard time...
