    Default Archer unit question. 4.1

    im playing 4.1 and i noticed longbowmen and yeoman archers both have the same stats, except the YM cost more to recruit and upkeep.
    i was wondering is there any advantage to using yeoman archers? perhaps an accuracy or range bonus? or is that just the way it was designed?, as longbowmen are historically amazing.

    yeah, thats what i meant. they make em sound so good, so they are rated good.
    anyone know if there is some kind of advantage the yeomans have over them tho in 4.1?
    otherwise i should just create LB's.

    They use maces, which is an AP weapon. So when they get in close proximity to ennemies, they are better.

    Maybe upkeep reduction for yeomen, accuracy bonus or moral bonus?

    Firing rate too perhaps?

    I dont have 4.1 anymore but if you post their respective units in the export_descr_unit.txt (in the data folder), we should be able to fathom what the differences are.

    looks almost identical except for upkeep/cost, and something about "collision mass of the men"?

    Yeomen also have higher morale...but not by much.

    I choose yeomen over longbowmen any day, that is until retinue longbowmen is availiable. Upkeep/cost should not really be a problem at all.
