Icon8 sound recorder for a Vista Laptop.

Hi all, recently ive got a vista laptop. playing this game is not an issue, rendering movies is not eighter, its recording the sound output to merge with the rendered clips that i cannot do.!
i tried Audacity. but that doesnt work on vista, there is a beta version of audacity made for vista but i cant find out a link to download it.
my dad says it could be that laptops dont have an actual sound card. just a sound driver.
does anyone have this problem? or can you actually record sound with vista!!!!?

I've wondered this also. Although Audacity works on my vista laptop, the sound clips sound terrible. The next best solution I would suggest is to use FRAPS and record the straight from the cine-ed.

    Two questions.

Did you read all the way through here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=139646?

Did you check Microsoft's website on how Vista handles such things? Steve Ballmer's kids thinks it's a great multimedia tool and your answer may lie there.

ive set the preferences to 4100, and 16-bit. and to SigmaTel High def audio for recording and replaying. but still nothing. Dea Paladin, what are your settings? maybe if I copy your preferences, it might work.
