Darth, Darth, Darth... what have you thought when you created this little monster? You truly inspired by very dark forces.
I (a 32 old guy) had to wait 10 years (since the first TOTAL WAR game) to sit with tears in my eyes infront of my PC, because the AI is whipping my arse hard and good. I´m not into modding (absolutly NOT) and for me its nothing more than a miracle what you have done, my hard-breathing friend. I also had tried your DarthMod for M2, its fantastic too and I still play the Pro Deo Et Rege Mod (where the AI is inspired by you, and your little slaves still working hard on it (even they have lost the faith... who needs THE MATRIX, when you can dance with the dark forces?).
But to be honest: what you did with ROME is a really masterpiece. I still can´t believe what I have seen... I only played 10 rounds, and got 4 small battles, and they very better than anything I have seen before in a TW game. I LOST! I LOST! I want to run naked on the streets and scream it in peoples face: I HAD TO WAIT NEARLY 10 YEARS, AND NOW I LOST!

Forget CA. I can´t understand why they didn´t take such a genius mind like you. But be sure: YOU a my personal hero. Really. You know, I´m working on a ICU (intensiv care unit) and from time to time I need a little break from seeing people diying and all the pain. So for relaxing I go diving and like to play a games. And you give me a reason do ENJOY this.
So again: Forget CA, I´m sure there a lot of more people like me around who really love you for the stuff you are doing.

And please: don´t leave modding. I´m really looking forward to EMPIRE, but I know the AI will suck again big time.
Don´t go away. People need you.

Thank you very much my friend. Comments like yours which from time to time I receive from fans, who still play my mods, are more than encouraging. They are in fact my only payment as I have commented in my retirement thread. I miss modding... that is for true. It seems this is strong enough to make me going to mod Empire Total War when I get it in my hands. Although my time is very limited, I will find a way to produce the quality you found in my previous mods.

good to see you getting some well deserved praise.

there are many mods out there that add more in terms of flashy new units, unique settings, new buildings etc, but i have played darthmod more than any of them. infact i have put more hours into it than any mod for any game.

why? because the gameplay and general atmosphere oozes quality.

with anything creative a huge part is knowing when to stop, and it seems like in darthmod just the right amount of "flashy stuff" was added, then you focused completely on gameplay. seems like many mods get this the wrong way round.

you make excellent music too.

I downloaded a few mods for Medieval. They were nice, but did not add much to the actual game experience beyond adding some new units and land.

I can't run Empire, and I'm trying to decide whether it's worth it to invest $500 to upgrade my system for one game.

In the meantime, I think I may fire up Rome and try this mod. I've been checking out this forum and it seems like it really changest the way the game is played, which is what I'm looking for.

Aint that right… same thing happened to me...
I remember my first defeat already knowing how anything worked on Rome was the time I installed darth 8.1

I was fascinated as I watched the AI outmanoeuvre me, surround my infantry line with cavalry charging from behind while a detachment hunt down my light cavalry, crazy pike men inmoilizing my front line while they charged my flanks…and…Oh! the battle did indeed reach to my triarii I can tell you, and they fought to the last man without retreating among a swarm of screaming celts!…
I suppose its difficult to understand how getting totally defeated by the AI can be one of the best total war moments but…well you had to be there to see the devilish darth mod at work…
Being using darths mods ever since!

Now returning to barbarian invasion for a go with the west roman empire on darth 8.1 I expect the towers of smoke from the burning of the barbarian corpses to reach the gods…

trying Darthmod for Rome for the first time. I played Rome on Hard/Hard. Is the difficulty generally the same or should I bump it down to M/M for Darthmod?

I would also like to extend my thanks to you for all of your hard work Darth. Your mod's are always my favorites (especially 8.0 for Rome, can't stress that one enough). Hope you do a mod for Empire, but understandable if you don't (but please do).

I have played more than 15 mods,but I was lucky to try out your mod first.And after al, Darth you are a genius.You created pure perfection!And it is said that the first love you never forget!And that is absolutely true and it does apply to you mod!
