Patch 1.2 frozen at end of install

Patch 1.2 for Med II was installing fine until it got to "Updating Core Game Assets, data_pack_1" and now it's been stuck there, all day and well into the night as I type this.

Is that the last bit and is it done and I can just restart my computer and install BC?

If it was me for what I've seen in this game, time to reboot and reinstall the game and then update. I hope you don't have 1.1 installed.

A big no-no. 1.2 will not update 1.1. 1.2 will only update from 1.0. You have to reinstall the game to get there. Sorry.

.. I wish to god I had read that before reinstalling.

You have no idea how bloody slow it is to install this game to an external HD.

That is something that has happened a lot with 1.2. Is this your first time ever installing that patch? If it locks up again try starting over with the patch install. Sometimes you just have to try again.

I reinstalled Med II without installing 1.1.

If I restart it now, and then try installing 1.2 again, will it work?

It might. It could either be a problem with pulling the file from the patch, or the installation to the game. I would try restarting and then running the patch again. I have had the same problem, but i think i was able to solve it without having to reinstall the game.
