58 B.C. - Caesar Imperator! v1.2 Mod for Rome: Total War: Barbarian Invasion v1.6



58 B.C. is a mod set in the last days of the Roman Republic. It covers the most important victories and campaing of Julius Caesar from the battles against the Helvetii to the final victory at Munda. This is a one-faction only mod. Caesar must survive every battle or the game will end.

NOTE: This file is included on the F.R.R.E. CD-Rom

IMPORTANT NOTE:
You MUST have a retail copy of Rome: Total War and the Barbarian Invasion Expansion Pack installed and patched to v1.6 to make use of this mod.

Windows Vista Users: this modification might have some installation problems if you do not run the installer as Administrator.

Is this the same as 1.1 but can run also on BI?

Both 1.1. and 1.2. run on BI. 1.2. only fixes some bugs and, if I remember correctly, add some units. That said, I am downloading the mod to upload it to megaupload as FF is closing.

If you prove as good a general as Caesar the scripted missions run all the way down to the swan song of the Pompeiani at Munda

hey i need some help installing/starting this mod

the installeer finished installing, great!
then i opened up the desktop shortcut that was created for this mod
The game opened up and now i dont know how to start a campaign.. could someone please help me?

and when i click imperial campaign it says 'please select an item from the list'

I think you are missing something, I wish I could help you, maybe Salvor Hardin might see this post a give you more help, I dont know enough about this mod myself.

This message 'please select an item from the list' might indicate that your BI version is not updated to 1.6. Although the fact that the 58bc mod does not appear is also weird.

Perhaps you could right click on the shortcut of the mod in your desktop and check that the path is correct and leads to a non-modded RTW/BI install. If you have some mod installed, like Rome Surrectum, that overwrites the game files, this might be the problem.

It wasnt a problem with my BI version, anything you suggested
It was a Vista problem, it seems that in order to install this mod and have it functioning i have to start the installation process 'as administrator'
I dont know what made me think of trying that but i was desperate to play the mod so i was trying anything, but it worked

Can i suggest that somewhere in the dowload/installation section that someone writes that Vista users need to install this mod as administrator?

Well now im off to conquer Gaul!
