Default Peace in the Middle East

It's kinda funny, Arabs try to wipe out Israel on a number of occassions, hate monger for basically 50 years since WW2, and they wonder why Israel doesn't deal with them. They vote Hamas into power, who decides that they are going to launch rockets into Israel, not caring that innocent people got killed in Israel, but more so in the West Bank, or was it Gaza, whatever. Point is, the Arabs, Syrians, Palestinians need to wake the up. If they had won those wars, would they have acted any differently. I think not. Point I am trying to make is that they need to let the past stay in the past. They need to stop hate mongering, they are making themselves, and all Muslims look like fools and for what, it's all about power anyways.

Now, on Israel's side, they need to start treating Palestinians like people, and not conquered people either. They need to stop building settlements and slowly creating demographic majorities so they can justify not giving the land back. They must deal in good faith, and they too must tell the hardliners in Israel to go themselves too. Israel needs to tone down the rhetoric, and the belief that they can do whatever they want, whenever they want in the name of national security. Hey, how about not killing innocent people. Works both ways, they can't be pissed the Palestinians do it, and then go and do it on a grander scale.

Peace can be had, time for fresh thoughts, perspectives, and people to involve in the negotiations. Out with the old, in with the new so to speak.

What does everyone think?????? And don't give me the whole this is our land since the dawn of time BS either, it doesn't cut it.

There have been debates that have lasted like 35 pages and multiple threads. I'd use the words beaten to death. But don't worry, I bet some of the die hards on either side are ready for another go after their respite.

    Take it easy,

There won't be peace any time soon, you can bet that.

Because if you've been here longer, you'll know everybody has an idea of how to fix the Middle East.

Every Israeli does, every Egyptian does, every Palestinian, every Syrian every Saudi every Iranian every Iraqi.

These are ancient peoples willing to kill their own kids to try and fix the Middle East the way they want it to be fixed.

Da Skinna, it's that old thinking that is preventing peace from moving forward. Egypt and Jordan were able to reconcile, at a cost admittedly, but they have peace.

Look, they all have the same thing in common, wanting to live their lives until they die of natural causes, not because of stupid, and yes they are stupid, ideals like race, religion, land, power.

You see, that's the problem. They don't all have the same thing in common.

I have no idea how to fix it. Honestly.

The annihilation of Israel will fix the Middle East. But thats just my opinion of course.

Remember Jankren, there were many problems before Israel, the Arab governments are fortunate to have Israel bear the brunt of the people's malcontent against poor rule. But yes, it would help, but it will never happen.

And who would be able to?

The happiest day would be when there will acualy be peace in the Levant. But someone with just half a brain could realise that this would not happen soon.

The first act to peace should be to wipe out these thoughts (and vice versa)

The obliteration of Hamas will fix the Middle East. But that's just my opinion, of course.

Seriously now, there is no need for either side to be wiped from the face of the planet

So you are suggesting "change" is needed? hmmmmm, now where have I heard that word before?

When they realize they stem from the same family... when it is not acceptable to kill or maim another human being for personal gain... when war is no longer profitable... we will know peace.

    Exactly.

We have some chances though... we pull together after some grand tragedy, reaffirmation of our worth as human beings.

But I fear we need another Holocaust to remind us.
